the wiikey is one of the most stable chips out there , i have installed hundreds of them and i haven't had a bad report from no one.
this will replace the d2lite ;)

Some stuff not working:
- the soundfix is not working (on pal gc backups on pal wii)
- the 6x speed is not working (on backups on pal & ntsc wiis )
- it is not possible to dissable "full gc region free" (on Pal wiis)
- "full gc region free" not working (on ntsc wiis)
- the integrated "Wii update blocker" not working for some games (pal & ntsc wiis)
I'm more worried about the 'Multifrequency Ringpiece Oscillators'. Why on earth would I need my ringpiece oscillated?
:D

thanks to early adoptance I managed to get a wiikey installed.
no problems with the chip. Just the user (i tried updating using gcos).

This is 100% correct, those that say their "wiikey" is working 100% are either lying, or are unable to notice that their drive is spinning at 3x, and do not use GC audio streaming fix.
This was documented a long time ago on numerous sites.

and having tried 1.9s.
I have a wiikey and like I said the only problems I have had so far was because of me.

will the future wiikey firmware update work for both wiikey 1 and 2?
didineedthis
10-10-2008, 02:31 AM
it will be a different firmware ,its a different chip. the team will still support the original wiikey. this is just the d2lite with new firmware for the wiikey and a pretty blue board to match.

well DUH, why would you want to disable full gc region free.
on NTSC it CANNOT EVER be regionfree with pal GC games that can't do 60hz. EVER. not wiikey's fault.
the update blocker is not supported on most chips at all.
Stop whining and just play!

Well, what they did was make a package as a whole work for a majority of people. Sure, some of your more less important features don't work. But that doesn't take away from the fact that it works great the other 99% of the time.
-- Sound fix is a PAL issue and I'm in Canada so it's never affected me.
-- 6x not working is probably a good thing and might even be intentional. With all the people using crappy media (cheap DVD-R/DVD+R discs) most of their games won't boot if it wasn't for the slower drive speed.
-- "full gc region free" is not really an issue. A gamecube can be had for cheap these days if need be. If anyone was such a big fan of the gc why wouldn't have one to begin with? XenoGC was incredibly easy to install.
-- There is no such thing as a Wii update blocker on any other chip as well. Not like it's a real loss. The mistake was to put it on the config disc.

Where and how are we supposed to mount the wiikey 2?
Can anyone post pics of an install with a chip similair in size/shape to the Wiikey 2 on where and how the mounted theirs?
And the installs, it obviously has to be a wired install XD. Approximately how long should be wires be?

It's going to be the same place as for the d2pro and other similar chips. Search for d2pro9 diagrams.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE D2C CHIPSET, HAD MY WiiKEY 2 PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED, AND ALL I GET IS SOLID RED LIGHT ON THE MODCHIP AND MY Wii WONT INTAKE OR LOAD DISCS. PLEASE HELP
how many threads are you planning on hijacking ?
if you keep double and treble posting posting no one will give you any help at all.
as i have said in your other threads , send it back to your installer and get him to sort it out.

This chip just works!. Buy it - it's cheap. Use a wiiclip and remove it if you're not pleased with it. The chip is also flashable so it's perfect for future updates. My customers love it. good luck

didnt mean to post the same question on different threads. i was unsure on how this forum ran and well honestly, if id get any help at all. but still we looked over all wires and they are soldered intact. checked continuity and none are touching (like the 2 on the ic). i just dont get it, its like no power is getting applied to the motor to load or intake a disc. if anyone had this same issue and got it resolved or if anyone else has any suggestions, please help. again, sorry for the multiposting, wont happen again. thanks
can you post a clear picture of your install ?
