well you could just upgrade your D2Pro to 2.3 and your SPI to 1.6 and that should fix the problem.

If you really want a new chip I have heard nothing bad about the D2light it works on all chip sets and it's the cheapest chip I know of that is still in production.

D2lite is a good chip IMHO.
Also D2Sun work well. Seems there is a fair bit of snobbery that because it's an alleged clone it's not as good. What do I care? I fit em and they work, by and large with no issues.

I installed a solderless D2Sun V3 about 2 weeks ago, it covers all versions. Even comes with an external switch so you can enable/disable the chip without opening the Wii, can also be updated without taking the Wii apart as they supply a ribbon cable that can be left out side by the switch. I have tried about 15 backups, no problems as yet with gameplay. The only thing is sometimes when you eject a disc to play another game and go to insert another disc it doesn't want to draw in the disc!!!! I then switch off the Wii and it works again, this doesn't always happen though!!!! Even though this happens I am really happy with the chip, backups run perfect, no glitches what so ever :)

Does any experts know why the drive does this? I always hit the home button then go back to main screen before I eject the disc.
