Hello!

I have my Wii running with the European system (right now 3.3E), but these days I usually have the game region set to North America with AnyRegion Changer as I am more interested in VC titles in NTSC because the poor PAL adaptions from back those days were not fixed on VC.

However I am also often using Opera on the Wii and when having the region not set back to Europe I can't start the Internet Channel. I tried installing the NTSC-U version of Opera and first it is loading (even also in my native language) but it will freeze immediately on my Wii. So the only way left seems to me using the PAL Opera and to make it region free or change its region to North America with tools like FreeTheWADs or Wiizle Diizle Shizzle.
I tried that now a few times, but when I try to install it with WAD Manager I get this error message "ERROR (ret = -2011)".

So I wonder if maybe here anyone know, if it is possible to install Opera modified like that or is it simply impossible?

Oh and by the way, I know that I also could use the tool Channel Loader but I would prefer starting Opera directly and not first the Homebrew Channel and after that the Channel Loader and then finally Opera, ...if possible :)

Thanks and greetings!

Thanks for the reply, however as I said above, I did try making the Opera WAD region free using freethewads and also Wiizle Diizle Shizzle. When I use one of these tools it seems to work, they give me no error message and when I run for example freethewads again it shows me that the WAD is region free (or shows me the new region I set).
However as said before, after I do these changes to the WAD I can't install it anymore with WAD Manager, it gives me the error message "ERROR (ret = -2011)".

Am I forgetting a step here, is there anything else that needs to be done to a WAD file after changing the region or making it region free?

do any other wads work?

If you have a custom IOS that can affect the installation as well.

Also there is a "safe" hack for the wii called menu loader that can make the menu region free.

Have you also considered that the wad itself may be a bad dump? try a different wad.
