Hi everyone

When I soldering the D2Pro 9 wire on my D2E Drive, I accdent ly broke off the 'C' poin in the front. Does anyone know the alternative point for the 'C' point?? I did some research on the forum, there is an alternative install diagram for D2Pro 13 wires,, but I just wondering the 'C' point on D2Pro 13 wires, is it same as the 'C' point on D2Pro 9 Wire??

here is my pic of what I mean

Can I use this install diagram for insatlling 'C' point for D2Pro 9wire?

please help!!

thanks in advance

The d2pro 9 wire and d2pro 13 wire 'C' point are both DIFFERENT points.

If you broke off the 'C' wire then solder to the leg connected to that 'C' point by following the traces on the board.

As you can see the 'C' pont on D2E board, the trace end with the point, the other end is the chipset.
Do I just solder on the chipset?? what about the other end, where did it go??

solder it directly yo the ic ,2nd or 3rd down from the top. just follow the line to the ic.

When I said the leg I was referring to the leg/pin on the IC/chipset.

As for the other end, I think the point ended there. There should be no need to repair that. You can always double check first by leaving the majority of your installation in but disconnecting ground and power from the chip so that it does not interfere with the optical drive and give that a try first. By doing that you at least make sure you didn't break anything.

Yep as these other guys have said just solder to the IC leg direct.

Doesent matter about the pad as its a empty space for a surface mount device or testpoint.

as stated solder it directly to the ic, problem solved .

thanks a lot...
I tested the drive with point 'C' directly soldered on the chip...
All working now
