Greets all! I finally took the plunge and installed the homebrew channel on my wii. I'm using a cut pin D2B wii, with a wasabi v1 mod chip installed. I have never had any issues before with my Wii. I am currently using 3.2U.
I followed the instructions on the DVDx site and installed patchmii by copying the .dol file to the apps directory. I also ran the DVDx .dol.
Now I have run the DVDx installer about 10 times, both normal and patchmii installs, and I get a big fat nothing out of it. Nothing new appears in the homebrew channel menus, nothing new appears on the wii menu. I pop in a DVD and nothing happens. I also tried running the DVDx installer through the homebrew channel browser, and I got the same results. I know its supposed to install a hidden channel, but how do I use it if it did in fact install successfully? In every instance the installer says its successful.
What am I doing wrong? Any help would really be appreciated. The DVD player in my TV died, and I'd really like being able to watch DVDs again :)
edit: Just re-watched the video on youtube and noticed that the guy uses mplayer to play the dvd. Do I need to install the libdi version of mplayer to make use of DVDx once its installed? I'd try it but my girlfriend is currently playing boom blox, hahaha.
