Installed a D2SUN V3 on Saturday, all working well :) Just curious about firmware upgrading, am I right in thinking some new games require a update to be played? if so is it dangerous to update when a chip is installed? I have played a few backups like Sonic & Mario Olympics, Top Spin 3 and haven't had any up date requests yet!!! My console is PAL and purchased in March 08 and hasn't had any Firmware updates since new.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the quick reply, I didn't know that I could play NTSC games on my PAL console!! Whenever I obtain an ISO I make sure it is PAL, is there something I can use to double check the game region before I burn it?

wii brick blocker can tell you region and strip off the update partition from isos.

I'm running 3.2e and a recent backup asks for an update, but the update text says DON'T UPDATE IF YOUR CONSOLE IS MODIFIED!!!! so I didn't and am using gecko os to run the game with no update (the game is pal but gecko just stops it asking for the update).
So are you guys saying that the warning message is junk and my wiikey will be fine if I update to the latest firmware via a PAL game??
cheers

the wiikey will be fine but make sure you run 1.9s and use config 1.4,
Also 3.3E prevents trucha signed discs from running so you need to use geckoOS to run them.

Use Wiu1.0 .. It will not only check if its NTSC or PAL it will also Patch it for you to be what ever region you want it to be ... Also it can Patch updates on it so that you dont brick your wii at all!!
Its highly recommende software to check isos with ;)

Hi.
Wii 4.2 update bricked my Wii with D2pro9 V3 for D2C2 chip.
It will not play back up games.
I have burned the 1.7 utility dic on the D2pro website, but what do i do now to get the console back to it's pre 4.2 update state.
