go to: USRDIR\sound\mostwanted

remove: siren_mb.abk

EDIT: actualy it crashes after the race is over. . .i tried to dummy the file also, this time it wont boot the race.

so i played around a lil' bit more and looks like its going pretty good. this is what i did.

i droped all the files in vcdrom and deleted siren_mb.abk in the sound folder. i grabed the original copy of roadblock_bank.abk to replace the file i deleted and dropped it in vcdrom, now i have two of them.

i renamed one of it "siren_mb.abk" then rebuild the iso. loaded in fastloader and everthing works.

Cool good stuff. Have you tried replacing the music with your own stuff yet?

Yep works fine. I just use one track and link all the others to it to save space. But yeah its the same as all the others.

Can you describe how you did it? How you replace the sounds? Because i never did it bevor and i would like to change the sounds...

if you are asking how i replace the police siren then i'll try to explain a lil' better.

i you have the iso, extract it using winrar. you will get one folder and one file once it's done (psp_game and umd.dat). open up umdgen — if you dont' have it here's a link http://www.umdgen.com/utilities.html — and drop those two files in the big window.

in umdgen, find the "siren_mb.abk" file in USRDIR\sound\mostwanted directory and delete it. on your pc, find the "roadblock_bank.abk" file, its in the same folder as the siren and drag that into umdgen's big window. now you should have two files with the name "roadblock_bank.abk". all you have to do now is change one of the file name to "siren_mb.abk" and create your iso.

hope that helps.

From what I have read I would presume this is done in the same manner as Burnout and SSX...just get teh EAC application and whip up some custom tracks, rename replace them in the ISO and go...

...and to be more exact (no pun intended), you need the 'Exact Audio Copy PSP Edition'.

You simply remname them to .AUD .TOC is what EAC uses for file extensions

This is not really that ucommon, there were a few tracks that I had that same issue with on Burnout. You might try different tracks...

That is correct... just make sure that you rename the replacement file to the exact file name as the original.

I remember some saying something about the file size for Burnout or Wipeout (can't remember which)... maybe the custom track(s) can't be any larger than the largest original track?

my problem files were just random file sizes, not too big, not too small... wheras some others (ones that worked fine) were much larger than the original.

i got all tracks working now though however, just with a bit of messing around with different songs.

now i just want to get the track names sorted - there must be a way to edit track names. its not the tracklist file, since i made that blank and it didnt effect the game in the slightest...

nobody posted anything about this, so...
you can save some more space if you relink/dummy the other language speeches in USERDIR/sound/mostwanted. they are mw_speech_(fr, gr, it, jp, or sp)_(1, 2, 3, and 4).abk.

EDIT
this doesn't work, it freezes at the PSA. you have to hex-edit the boot.bin to disable the other languages, then you can safely delete/dummy the other language speeches.

no, i meant i read somewhere else that a guy changed the language of the US game to italian by hex-editing something in the boot.bin.but he didnt say what. so i thought maybe someone of u guys knows which value to change for the languages.
