Action Replay with Qoob Pro Guide

You can't use Action Replay with a Qoob modchip, as you would use it with an unmoded Gamecube. So, if you have Qoob Pro, you have to do some steps for AR codes.

-You need to add to the Qoob's bios the cheat engine of action replay
-You need to upload a file containing the cheats to Qoob's flash memory

The following tutorials will help you through.

(Don't get scared from their size, I just try to cover any question that it could be made)

In one .qch file there are codes for one or more games.

I assume that you have found the group of codes you want to decrypt.

Let’s open the GCNcrypt

Copy your group of code (like the above) to the input area of the program.
Now press Decrypt and you will get the following output:

NOTE: This step is not required for your cheats to work, but it will make smaller the cod files allowing to you to add more cheats. So, it is recommended.

Open notepad or another .txt editor, and paste the decrypted code there. Now delete the first numbering line from every cheat

For example

The finale result will be similar to this

Select "Save As" in the notepad.
Give a name like bmx_xxx_p.cod and in the "Save as type" select the "All Files" option.

DON'T FORGET TO PUT .cod AT THE END

If you do this right the output file will be cod type, but you can always view it with notepad.

The only thing left is to create the actual cheat files that qOOb uses.
That's why we now open QchEdit. As you can see the "File" menu is self explained but I'll also say what every option does.

NEW -> Deletes every work you may have done with program (doesn't affect the files you had saved)

ADD QCH -> It loads your previous created cheat file (.qch) so you can add more games

ADD COD -> Adds codes for a game as it imports a .cod file

MASSIMPORT COD -> You can add many .cod files at once

SAVE QCH -> The option to save your changes to a cheat file


Now, you only have to upload your cheat file to your qOOb

1st Upload your cheat file to qOOb's flash memory.
2nd Put inside GC your AR disk and press B button to go to qOOb's menu.

(If it asks you to re-install the cheat engine, just close the gamecube and do the 2nd and the 3rd step again)

I have been trying this out now for the past week, and all i can say is AAAAAAaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, this realy is now getting up my nose so much i want to scream.

It all goes fine with decrypt and then i copy all the codes to notepad as the instructions say,, but then this is where it goes all wrong!!! when i try to save the new cheat code as a .cod file, all it does is keeps it as a text file not as a .cod file, then when i try to add it to QCHedit it don't recognise it, i have uploaded the file to show you, i have this problem with all the codes i wish to make myself , aint life a *****, please help me to see the light ;-P

Just choose to rename the file and delete the .txt at the end OR just leave it as a txt file as QCHedit is supposed to be able to import txt files.

You have file extentions hidden to do it that way you need to unhide the file extentions, or when you have put the codes into the file, clikc File then save as then save it as a .cod file :)

The second option isn't avaliable (as a txt file)
For not having the same problem again, when you are saving your file change the "Save as type:" to "All files". Now it shouldn't add the .txt at the end.

Do what I did for my PAL disk and make them your self (since Datel are slacking now and almost no codes work that they make), I created my own (M) code and the codes Datel have listed and some others :)

I think i found your problem. I had to create from the start the cod file to notice it.

When in the 2nd step (clear code) i asked you to delete the 1st line, i mean from EVERY code (you can notice this through my example). You just deleted the first line from the (M) code.

P.S. Some people said it worked without deleting any of the first lines, but following the clear step will make the finall file smaller.

To make your own codes can be easy or hard it depends on what your trying to make if you stick with say making Max rings and thing like this its realy simple, I have attached all the tools (it wont upload the file? PM me with your Email address and I will send them to you) that you will need to make your own AR codes with original Games, to hack backup copys you will need a patched version or the GCNrd.dol file, not the new version but the old one the one GCNrd does not work with some games.

An easy way to get the (M) code is by uploading GCNrd via PSO as it was designed to be used then it will auto hook the game and that hook is then turned into an (M) code for the AR by you.

P.S. I have pulled the a picture from Shadow The Hedgehog with some codes showing their effects I did them in under 2 minutes, but thats because I have done this loads of times, it may take you longer to get use to finding them.

Yes you do need a BBA to hack codes, since you hack them "live" while you actualy play the game, also PSO is a good thing to have but not realy needed.

Thats what I get once I have added a new cheat file to my chip so you reflash the cheatengine to the correct slot, or in my case use my original AR14b disk :)

When this message comes out then you have to use version A (the official way). With other words, burn an AR image (included in the rar file i post about at a previous post) and put it inside gamecube. For more check the guide.

I get this message every second time I flash a new qch compilation file to my chip, and instead of me finding the AR1.14b disk I just flash the cheat engine I ripped out of the thing before I redone the whole chip, because I tested the qoob pro version of GCoS think it was T3 was the only one back then that worked as the main bios correctly.

:confused: I tried the codes (not all of them, but most) and they are working perfect. Make sure that you have the USA version and check the guide to see how to use the cheats. When you activate a cheat, a star appears at the end of the line. If you restart or close your gamecube, all the cheats become deactivated. Have a nice cheated gameplay. :cool:

Hum ok, are you sure its the USA game you tryed thought since other people have said that the US codes actualy work correctly, and for making it simpler for making the codes its still best to have PSO (copy or original ;))

For doing it that way you need will need to use GCoS T4 with a patched AR.dol, you can't use an AR disk with the qoob's bios it has a messed up GUI, and also once the drive code has been installed the chip maintains that drive code I belive so if you put in the real AR disk and had is actualy work correctly then the backup disk will not work correctly, im not sure if that would work if the GUI was usable thought im guessing since you can swap backup disks for Multi Disk games.

Sorry I have not been able to look into this since I just gotten back my main system and been busy fixing it backup the guy who installed my new mother board complectly messed up the job, I only took it their since I still had worently on the mother board...

Well the reason it Duplicates is because its actualy "not" it seems like it is simple because the cheat engine implementation in the qoob pro does not support long enought code names meaning that the PAL and USA tags are still their but too bid to acutaly fit into the view able area, I would shorten the Game names so its easyer to know that their are also shorten the names of codes if their are quite big.

Or simply remove the USA or PAL game codes unless you own both versions.

If u load AR disk with Qoob all the codes' names would be unreadable. I'm afraid you have to do the cod thing for every game. On the other hand, IJTF_Cinder has created cod files for every american game avaliable (You can search for his viper codes combination file) and has also created 2 seperate qch files, one for PAL games and one for the Japanese.

Is there any way to get the cheat files on the qoob pro without usb? Im using a mac and virtual pc does not seem to like it it shows the qoob pro but when i click enable qoob pro usb it auto un checks it right after i close the screen and i cant use the flashing program. Also is there no way to delete files or bios on the qoob pro without the flashing program? Thanks for the help:)

Nope, unfortunately the only way to flash this kind of stuff is via the flasher.
What Windows OS are you using in Virtual PC? You may want to try another, particularly Windows XP.

I see that they scam Mac users large, and you have to buy a VPC for each Windows OS. We all know nobody has to "buy" anything on the internet :D

Or simply take your cube to a friends house that has a PC running Windows.

Remember, you just need the cube and it doesn't have to be on when flashing the chip (Infact, shouldn't be on)

I have a ngc with qoob pro 1.3c and an original AR, but when i installed it i lost the letters on the screen, i dont see what menu or any letters on the screen at all ??
I thought it would be easier to ask before i try and maybe get pissed and smash my console :P

put your AR disc in your cube. Hold down B button and then turn on your gamecube. A menu will come up. select "cheats" it will ask you to insert datel disc, just follow the onscreen instructions and your cheat engine will be installed. next use the qoob flash program and upload a cheat file (.qch) to your qoob.
now when you want to cheat, just hold down "B" at startup and when the menu comes up, select cheats. this will display the cheats, after you select your cheats, use "b" to go back to the boot menu and boot your disc. Once you install the cheat engine, you never need to use your AR disc again.

Not meaning to give this thread a megakick, but on QoobPro 1.3c bios, i can only boot the original BIOS and not a mini-dvd (RITEKG04). How can I cheat in my backup?

Sure you downloaded a Cube AR, and not a Wii AR or otherwise?
