I have to say I like these series of commercials. Way more funny than the Mac vs. PC commercials!

Jerry and Bill end up pissing off the entire household.
Sounds like Microsoft to me...
Seriously, they need to focus more on why PC's are better - more 3rd party support, more games, more users, etc.
Instead, they highlight the fact that they have lost touch with humanity.

The ad company they are using is notorious for "say nothing" commercials...and of course it's going over like a lead balloon. Not really anything about how PC's are better than MAC. It would be easy to show how much better a PC is.....Just show 2 systems, a MAC and a PC together with a 800.00 limit and show them playing a game side by side. The MAC at 800.00 would be bare-bones while the PC would be almost top notch, then watch the MAC struggle to keep up...it's that simple. People want speed, and the biggest complaint about MAC is how slow the systems are, and how expensive they can be. It's an easy test, and one that should be shown in commercials. Can't tell you how many people I know have bought a MAC only to be pissed at the price point and 1 year later how they have to upgrade because it's slow, only to pay ridiculous prices for upgrades. Those marketing consultants cost 100,000 to give you crap. I just gave you the best commercial for free. :D

Um, I think you missed the point altogether. It's a funny ad. If you laugh, you like the people who made you laugh; therefore, you like the product they are selling. It's called marketing.

I did miss the point...because there is no point. Just because you laughed at it doesn't mean that there is a mental connection between PC and MAC, and which is best. Did you look at my suggestion, or just read the first two lines of my post. What do you think of my ad promo? Heck of a lot better than the 100 million campaign they paid for a COMPLETELY boring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld, who should have never left his show.
Look at your last two sentences.
"If you laugh, you like the people who made you laugh; therefore, you like the product they are selling. It's called marketing"
There is NO DIRECT CORRELATION between laughing at an ad totally absent of any product and liking the product....that makes no sense. If that's called marketing,,,someone just paid a bunch of retards 100 million to make a commercial that makes you laugh. How does laughing at an ad devoid of the product make you want to by the product? The only result is what the consumer says,,,,and 90% of consumers are making jokes on the internet about these commercials. The MAC ads were right on. They attacked PC's for their OS problems, and their lack of customer concern. Do you honestly think that the M$ ads are better than the MAC ads? You need to get off the bong!
Maybe with your ideas to "make people laugh to buy the product," they could sell more 360's.Go and make a pitch to M$ to make people laugh over the 360 and the RROD debacle. That should definitely sell more systems, don't you think? It's hard to laugh at a product when people are so angry with M$. It rubs people the wrong way.
Now I understand why Jerry Seinfeld is part of these commercials!
The show Seinfeld was about nothing, and these commercials are about nothing...
Makes perfect sense!

I totally agree with ya. I was excited when I first heard that MS was going to take on the MAC vs PC ads, but these r total crap... Its like, "wow we have Bill Gates, Jerry Seinfeld and a shoe in our adds, so go buy pc's..."

I think it's good they haven't stooped to Apple's level.
One of the major reasons I don't like Apple, is the Mac vs PC ads. The schoolyard "Iz betta dan u coz I hired sum1 to make u look silly!" thing is juvenile and offputting.
It's the same reason I don't like Subway ads. "Unlike OTHERS we have a BREAD OVEN. So there!"
