I have had the Phoenix loader on my xbox for nearly two months now, and I had no problems running my xbox until today. The xbox became stuck in an endless reboot-loop for no reason. I had not changed the files, I had not removed anything, and I had not renamed any files since the install.

If anyone could offer help in this department, it would be greatly appreciated.. I wish to go back to playing Halo.

The reboot problem or 'boot loop' is a KNOWN problem with the Soft Mod procedure. At this time there is currently NO known fix.

Contrary to what a lot of people may tell you it is NOT anything to do with the Phoenix Loader files BUT to do with the Fonts files (ernie and bert, or alternatives).

While it seems that everyone has a 'fix' or a 'method' for stopping this boot problem, I will tell you right now that this is NOT the case. Again there is NO fix.

It is generally caused by disconnecting the Xbox from a power souce for a long period of time (generally 45mins+).

The only way to recover from this loop unfortunatly is to allow the Xbox to keep rebooting over and over agian untill it loads the dash.

While there is not a fix, it does appear that certain Xboxs have a 'ressistance' to it so to speak and never seem to have any problem apart from a changed clock. This does not mean the problem isnt there. Different Xboxs work better with different font releases (bigfonts, reloaded) but while you may want to try these, there is no promise that it will have any effect.

(I might make this a sticky in the exploits section)

Hey, found a fix for the loop! During the boot-up sequence with the MS Xbox logo, *JUST* before the microsoft logo appears underneath the X, press the eject button REPEATEDLY. Do not stop pressing it, make sure that the cd stays mid-range betwen fully-ejected and inserted. Whatever loader/dash you have will load fully, and will allow you to get out of the loop! :)

RiCiN just kicked yo *ASS*! (That's my buddeh)
