View Full Version : Namco get pissy about Yoda Vs Vader SoulCalibur Video, claims copyright infringement
Youtube has just informed us that our video showing Vader and Yoda fighting it out in Soul Calibur IV has been removed due to 'copyright infringement'. As a reminder, the video was a one minute long clip which proved that both Vader and Yoda are on the same Xbox 360 retail disc. There are many Soul Calibur IV videos currently on Youtube, so to us it seems as if Namco Bandai are potentially setting the wheels in motion to start charging for these characters as extra DLC...
A quiet day at Namco Bandai offices then...

Seems a bit fishy to me that they would do this, I have to agree that they are likley getting ready to fleece people for somthing they could potentially get for free, and so want to get rid of all evidence of it.
It peeves me that all the DLC for SC4 (maybe not the music tho) has to be ont h disk already, or else how would other see it when you play on line, it's a con to pay again for content you have already paid for, and have on your disk

Yeah I was just thinking, if they're both already on the retail disc, then we won't have to pay for them as DLC.

That made me think...
It cannot be called "downloadable content" if it's actually not downloaded...
It should be called something like "unlockable content".
But then again, they know too well that making people pay for "unlockable content" would look like a ripoff...
Personnaly, I'm a bit pissed about such industry practices. Simply because if the content is already in there, that means they're asking a price for something that requires no additional work on their part. It's not like it's something they spent time working on afterwards, which would make it legitimate to ask a price for it. It's content that is already there, and already programmed in by the development team.
While this is perfectly ok from a business point of view, it is still quite immoral in my opinion (and business don't need or care about morality).
I still believe the video is from a Namco in-house beta if is a retail people should figure out by now. Namco should be questioning their own employee for the leak:D
