I just bought a PassMe and put Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow on my X-ROM 512mb GBA flash cart and tried running it but it didn't work. I tried a bunch of different methods and still no luck. All that comes up are 2 white screens. I have tried different games with the same results:
-Robots
-Lunar Dragon Song
-Ping Pals
-Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
-Pokemon Touroze
Any and all help will help me. Thanks.
Did you first PATCH the castlevania NDS rom? You must use NDSPatcher to get a castlevania.nds.gba rom file which you flash to your X-Rom. You cannot just put the regular castlevania NDS rom file onto the GBA cart. It must be patched.

I have played castlevania with my X-Rom 512, and it works just fine. Actually , it was the first game I tried.
I found the biggest problem with getting games to run, is finding a CLEAN dump. Most of the ROMs you find around the net are nuked, or patched by GST. Get a program called nintenren, and have it check you NDS games. The ones that come up as checked should work just as well as the posted compatibility list.
Now I am assuming the passme works just as well as flashing the firmware, but I used my wireless network card with my X-ROM, to flash my firmware. I don't use a passme at all.

I patched it to get Castlevania.nds.gba and put it on the x-rom but it still doesn't work. I'll try getting nintenren next.
Is there something wrong with my PassMe or X-ROM? I think I'm better off getting a new flash cart, but if it's the PassMe that doesn't work, then I don't know what I'll do.

Did you check it with nintenren yet? Just about every rom that doesn't come up as clean with nintenren will be useless for you.
Also, what program did you patch it with? There are a couple out there. Don't use WRG-loadme, I havn't got it to work with my X-ROM. The other patcher seems to work just fine on clean roms.

All of my nds roms come up as clean roms in nintenren. I used NDS Patcher to patch my roms. I didn't know there were any besides LoadMe and NDS Patcher.

How new is your DS?
If you have a newer one, the old passme doesn't work. You need an updated passme for the newer DS's, because they have an updated firmware.
I think most of the colored DS's are the ones that have the newer firmware, and of course the silver ones that have been manufactured recently, but you can't tell that just by looking at the color.

I have the Silver one and I got it in January or February. On the order page it has a list of some games and says something about an sram.bin. Does that have anything to do with it?

The only other thing I can think of is the mode your XROM is in. Make sure you erase and choose "single" mode instead of multi in LittleWriter, before you upload the .nds.gba file.
Just to make sure, when you checked them in nintenren, they did NOT get renamed as "nuked - something", they got the numbered filenames right?
If you have a wireless card, you can flash the firmware and try it that way instead of using the passme.
I can't think of anything else, sorry if this doesn't do the trick.

I erase it and switch it to Single GBA Rom, right? Then I put the file after it's patched on it and Flash it. Then just insert the PassMe with a DS game in it, insert the X-ROM with the ds game on it, and turn the ds on?
When I do that, I get two white screens and nothing else.
Nintenren renamed all my files to numbered files too.
Just a curious question. When I patch the nds rom it comes out with the_name.nds but it says filetype GBA, instead of saying the_name.nds.gba.
Is that ok or is that the problem?
Finally, if I have to find an alternative, how much is a wireless card?

Well, the reason your filename is _filename.nds (type GBA), is because of your settings in windows. You have an option enabled called "hide known file extensions" or something like that. If you go to a command prompt oyu'll see the whole file name.
Wireless cards are anywhere from $15 to $150. You really have to look around. And slso, you need one that is compatible with WifiMe/flashme. Look for the tutorials on flashme, and you'll find a list of compatible cards as well.
As far as I know, there is no difference between using WifiMe/FlashMe/PassMe. So if one of 'em (passme) isn't working for ya, you may be out of luck. I'd try the passme on somebody else's flashcard of DS first, to see if you can isolate the problem to the passMe or X-ROM.
Maybe somebody with experience using the Passme with an X-ROM can help answer the question. I havn't been able to get into the X-ROM support forums for a long time, but maybe somebody there would be able to help. What ever happened to that anyway?
