noob question about JP consoles ..

I am thinking of buying a JP console with FW v1.5 (only ones in stock that i can find). A couple of questions if i can :-

1, will this run UMD disk - games and films - UK region ?

2, will this run games / homebrew apps from the memory stick (if 1GB) ?

3, can you upgrade / downgrade firmware as new games come out ie. GTA requiring later FW ? If so do you use JP FW or PAL FW ?

1.yes, all games are region free, movies are the same region as uk.

im guesin ur from the uk, id recommend u buy a 2.0 from argos, and downgrade it. it could be hard if ur new to the console, or nervous doin it, but itd be more benificial in the long run

I would by a UK one from argos or anywhere for that matter but they a re like gold dust.

one more question can i run the games off the mem stick and also play from UMD ?

ok i bought one jap version with 1.51 firmware. Can I down this to FW 1.50 for homebrew ? If so how ?

u need to upgrade it to 2.0 first before you can downgrade to 1.5 :)

yeah the downgrader works with any version psp jap/us/kor/uk as long as it has a 2.0 firmware
