Sony or Sandisk 2GB

which ever one you get make sure you get either the high speed one or the ultra II ones
i have the sony 2gb normal ones right now and i can tell you its slow compared to my san disk 1gb ultra II. slow by like 4X.

Too true m8, sony are absolute shite, high speed my backside.

I bought a sony high speed, sold it after 1 day and bought a sandisk, hell of a lot quicker.

I've got the Sony 2gb and it's noticeably slower, not that it really bothers me.

I found the Sandisk one at www.ecost.com for 136.00 which is as cheap as I could find the sony. 2Gb that is. They are sold out. Called Customer Service and they said sold out, don't know when they will get more but if you order it now you will get it when they get it. Ordered from them before. My Camera and a couple Memory cards never had a problem so I'm gonna try it. Maybe. Depends on what the wife says 136.00 will do to the bank book.

Finding a Sandisk 2gb is very very very rare in the States. Most places are either sold out or still waiting for their stock that may never come. Unfortunately, there are plenty of Sony 2 gb.

A lot of Sony sticks that you can find on eBay or similar sources are FAKE China ones !!! I tried one that has a write speed of 250KB/s, which is a real pain (like 1 hour to put a 800MB file on it...)

Yes we finally received our stock of the Sony 2GB Pro Duo.
they are the highspeed 80x, but the PSP can't do that speed, which sucks.

I, unfortunately have a Sony 2GB. If I had my time again I wouldn't go near the Sony products, they are so bad I believe they should be recalled. One word to describe them: SLOW!

with the PSP, my understanding is that when these ULTRA II or 80x speeds came out, the PSP can't handle those speeds. so they just operate at regular speeds with a PSP. i could be wrong, but this is what i remember.

I am in the uk and have spoke to a supplier who could supply me with a 100 2gb sandisk. YES 100.

but i am not sure if they are ultra II.
they are the standard blue ones that work wtih the PSP.
