XBLA title Braid is receiving superb review scores, both MetaCritic and GameRankings have the title rated at 92/100 a piece, making it the highest rated XBLA title and giving retail disc games a real run for their money!

i agree accept i don't think u mentioned how badly it sucked. Its a 2d game that looks like mario with high rez textures nothing better. The game play is basically mario but you can rewind time and as you can expect you can use this time feature to solve puzzles. if that makes this game the best thing ever made shoot me now. oh and did i mention that you can get a FULL game for a few pounds more than this on PSN. These games are ment to be cheap for a reason because they are downloadable and we don't get a disc or manual. I think fable 2 and GoW2 should be £60 because its better than say halo 3 or wall-e

Now I remember why I hate coming here. I'd love to stay, but nearly everyone here can kiss my ass. It's not like most of the stuff here is news anyway.

lol, the halo 3 joke was a good one...

well, Braid is really a great game. the developer wanted it go live for 800 MS Points, but the Devils, errm the Misters from Microsoft convinced him of the pleasures of a higher price.

it's really a great game. and it has some funny hints at super mario bros. i admit, i have yet to get all the puzzle pieces, some are really hard to get.

by 45 seconds, you didn't come to play the levels, did you?

and i really love the music, you don#t here that kind in any other game. some people seem to be not open to things they don't know.

I tried the demo and now I have bought the full game (my first xbla game i've bought), it is a very clever design and is far more than just a mario style platformer in Hi res. Infact it is nothing at all like mario asside from a few platforms and you can jump, the game is actually puzzle based and gets far better as you go on. The puzzles can be abstract in design at times but the solution is far simpler than you would expect more often than not.

I am not suprised to read some of the comments here tho, most kiddies these days have to have 3d and instant action that requires as little thought as possible. Well each to their own i guess.

This is personally my view of what XBLA and PSN games should be like.

Mostly because so many posters here spew constant bile from their 13 year-old mouths, contribute absolutely nothing of worth to message boards or otherwise, and wouldn't know a good game from their asses? And also call everything "homo" or "ghey" to ease their homoerotic impulses? That's a check.

I'm still deciding whether or not to buy Braid. Maybe if it comes down in price.

This game is well deserved of praise with it's great story's, art, and over-all technical design. Trust me! This game is worth the $15... I really hope more games of this caliber come out on XBLA.

go ahead & buy it,there must be some fans for crappy games in this world otherwise they wouldn't have dared to make them.

I think you hit the nail on the head there.

Braid is one of the best (top 5) XBLA games I have played. The only thing that keeps it from the top is it's short length, and limited replayability (once you figure out each puzzle...it's quick to go through them again).

I would probably rank Caracasonne, Ticket to Ride and Worms over it because they have the multiplayer keeping them fresh longer. As far as a single player game goes...it's on top of the XBLA games in my opinion, followed by Eets: Chowdown (another great puzzler, but lacking Braid's story, and cleverness).

I would defiantly compare Braid to Portal more than I would Mario. It is a great, original game experience that can't be beat...the short time that it lasts.

At 800 MS points it would have felt like a gift, but at 1200 MS points it still feels like a gaming experience that shouldn't be missed (unless you are like the gamers that are described above).

I've had my 360 since July and I've bought PoP Classic and Tomb Raider Anniversary off XBL. This might be my next purchase, but I'm going to wait for reviews of Bionic Commando Rearmed before I do anything.

Just download the demo and see if you like it. I don't understand how you could play ANY game for less than 1 minute and decide it is garbage. That's just plain stupid.

The game is far from any Mario game. This has some very clever puzzles involved that make you go "How the hell is it possible to get up there?" to "Oh jeez, why didn't I think of that before?" Love thos kind of games. Portal will stay at the top of my "Most clever games list" but this is a near second place.

Hahahaha, your sarcasm kills me.

XBLA has tons of games but not many are really that great. It has lots of classics but who has not already played he hell out of the classics?

damn, the children here are so hardcore. I wish I could be as cool as they are and hate on games without having a clue

edit: anyone know how to get the last two puzzle pieces in the trial? the ones to the right of the puzzle board?

Yay, now I don't hate everyone here.
Braid is great, I just played it. It doesn't really start to get fun until you get to play with the time mechanics.

you need to solve part of the puzzle to make a platform then adjust it to get the last 2 puzzle. IMO Braid deserves the high rating but not sure if it justify for the above avg(800)1200msp price tag.

Ahh, of course, "why didn't I think of that?" Kinda took some of the fun out of it now.

I just wished the control of the jumping was tighter in this game.

Nice to see that there are not only shooter-kids here. I at first too thought: "ok, time reversing mechanic, can be used to fix mistakes" but it really gets more interesting later on.

At first I was like, "wut." But then I went to Wikipedia, and they are making a PC version! Now I have something to anticipate on the PC along with Spore. :)

I have a feeling given the ending, there may be either a braid 2 or hopefully extra levels. Fingers crossed.

Anyway back to getting those devious stars, 5 down 3 to go :D
