yer the only thing im lookin forward 2 on this is the upload games to hdd to make them run smother and thats it really and the avatars a little

I hope someone creates some sort of hacked master disc. If so, I'll finally get my 360 firmware hacked just for the convenience.

i think they might do with the help of that beta version what was leaked but only time will tell

Well the good news is that you will be able to keep the old school dashboard.... other wise I would so not be playing on live any more.... Yes it was officially announced by Microsoft that it will be the user choice.

Yes all your themes will work and the new dash is going to be sweet! The naysayers haven't tried it yet. The main thing I am waiting for is the functionality. The current dashboard just doesn't work right for what xbox live has become, and I think microsoft realized that. Thus we get a new, cleaner, a lot more visually appealing, and better functioning dash.

I really can care less what it looks like .. I don't spend too much time on the dsh .. but I do like the fact that there appears to be no more ADS ... anywhere ...

Let's hope the game install feature works for backups. The BenQ drive becomes rubbish after a month so I'm looking forward to roaming around the world of GTA 4 without bumping into mailboxes every 5 meters :rolleyes:

I would have to agree, but I don't seem to mind the new one as much as long as it some how converts my old themes that I PAID for into this new feature. I do love the blades in the 360 dashboard though, and was happy to hear that they were going to keep them as the new main Xbox Guide window. Can't wait to play Blue Dragon without Disc swapping. lol

Really am looking forward to this though, it's a great idea even though people are still stuck on the "It's copying the Wii and PS3!" BS. Everyone forgets that just recently Sony came out with Trophies which are a close rip of Achievements, even closer to it then "Parties" are to Home and Avatars are to Miis.

Exactly (although I CAN'T care less - if I can care less it indicates I have some feelings of care ;p ) - who cares what the dash looks like. If it had the functionality of xbmc or another xbox dash then it would be important, but for what the dash offers there is little point spending more than a few mins in it.

The old dash is ugly and clumsy/awkward to use. The new dash looks ugly. Thankfully I will rarely ever see whichever I choose.

You're hoping aren't you - as soon as it goes on general release it will be as ad-infested as a standard live dash.

How are ads optional? Can you give me a source for this? Everything everywhere says that adverts are mandatory. Can you show/tell us all how to disable adverts when connected to live?
