In 2000, the Madden franchise decided to place a NFL player on the cover instead of John Madden’s mug. That 2001 version (released in 2000) was the beginning of one of the soon-to-be most infamous curses in sports.

so from what i understand Madden was on the cover of Madden 2000 (released in 1999) in some versions



the correct answer would be Madden 2001 (released in 2000). That is the first Madden didnt appear on any cover of the game.

I actually agree...Madden wasn't the feature on the Madden 2001 game, but he was on the game cover until Madden 06...

So, the question is really...do you want when he wasn't the feature, or if when he wasn't on it in its entirety.

If it wasn't when he was the feature...
