View Full Version : Square Enix want FFXXIII on 360 as the Xbox 360 is so successful

Speaking to Mundo Rare, Xbox's Albert Pennello has tried to downplay any rumors of a big payoff from MS to Square Enix by stating that Square Enix simply could not ignore the success of the Xbox 360. He noted it's easy to assume that something is going on behind the scenes but the most obvious answer is the Xbox 360 is doing well and game creators want their games to be where most people and consoles are....

I have no doubts money was paid up by MS, as i seem to remember a while back the only thing holding up and offical statement from SE either way, was the financial deal with MS.

That said the fanboy comments I see are as predictable as always, and as I always say, if Sony paid to keep it exclusive or make other games exclusive, you would love it. Seems like jealousy that MS are willing to pay for games and Sony aren't (well we all know they do but they claim otherwise, not to mention most of the money is behind blu-ray these days, not games)

if they wasnt paid off why didnt they plan to release it on 360 for the start?
if they wasnt paid off why didnt they start work on the 360 version when they started the PS3 version?

im glad its coming to 360 and all but dont play Us gamers as fools we arent idiots SE

MS paid you off..thats the only reason we're getting this game...and thats kinda lame

who cares if ms paid money? They did what was necessary to give the finger to sony and try and win this next gen war. At least they are doing something. SOny should be doing the same. But they are not. In fact sony should have doubled the money MS is paying for FF to keep it on ps3. But they havent done anything. WHy dont they try and make the ps3 as good as they claim? Its def possible, but if they slack with their established franchises they have on their system, SE's FF to be exact, they are history. thats business...

Sony is spending gobs of money in first party development, it is just taking a while for the benefit for to kick in. This is one of the reasons why strategy is so important. People will see a console get 5 games, and just think it's a nimble decision made by some brass in some war room, when in fact, it's probably a trickle-down decision from choices made 2-3 years ago by various people who had to predict the market and pay (at least some) heed to *gasp* analysts.

double what microsoft paid square??? r u nuts? (lol) maybe match it, but geez, double, thats microsoft we're talking about here, their console might be sh!tty, and they will come last this gen, (and any other gen they dare participate in) but their wallets still fat... :cool:

Well no doubt ms will say this, but hey it's their money I'm not about to start policing how they spend it. It probably did affect me in the sense that the game was probably further delayed because of it, but sh*t happens. While he didn't say that the 360 was the most successful, it's funny to hear those words uttered when much to my dismay the wii is doing better than the ps3 and 360 combined.

Also if SE wanted their game on consoles that most people own, i'd see them go to the Wii instead of the 360. lame speak from alberto.

Man I agree with you 100%; Final Fantasy XIII for the PS3 and Wii... but the Wii is successful all around the world, forget the PS3 too, Wii FTW!

A lot of people are just spitting bullshit left and right... it's disgusting really.
