Bungie's lead AI programmer Damian Islan believes that the Halo series could learn from Call of Duty 4. Islan noted that the way Infinity Ward used set pices and their scripting to craft the player experience is something Halo has a lot to learn from.

Bungie's lead AI programmer Damian Isla has spoken out about the merits of Call of Duty 4, stating that the Halo series could learn from Infinity Wards' highly acclaimed modern war shooter.

"I think it's a great game and single player obviously is fantastic," said Isla in an interview with gamesindustry.biz, "They did a hell of a job with their set pieces, of scripting certain moments that they were really sure the player was going to actually see and experience first hand. The way that they use those moments to craft the player experience...Halo has a lot to learn from."

Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 have long been engaged in an epic battle for the claim to at the top of Xbox Live's most played list, with Halo 3 currently holding a precarious lead.

I agree COD 4 FTW! Halo 3 single player was fun but really really short and multiplayer gets really boring fast at least for me.

COD4 was actually much shorter than Halo3.

OHH NNNOOOOOO!!!!

I dislike COD4, to scripted and controlled, give me halo any day over this!!
I hope i will still like halo in the future.

These are some comments i posted earlier about cod4...

"I don't like COD4, and i hate when every review disagrees with my opinion, even my fav mag GamesTM.
At first it was wow, great atmosphere and ambience and attention for detail.
Then it felt like i had no choice what to do, your comrades can open doors what you couldn't, they took your hand as a matter of speaking as you were some stupid newbie on the team and every time i wanted to take on a situation differently the leader would shout what to do next.
the game is very single minded, no room for exploration.
They don't give you the time to explore, you just follow them all the time and fly the levels through which makes them forgetable.
Then at some point in the game, i entered a room and shot some enemies and after that a comrade throws a flashbang grenade in the room where i am and after that i died.
Can happen i think, but every time i try to do the same thing, the same thing happened to me.
Sometimes it is also confusing if i was shooting an enemy or comrade as the team wouldn't stick with me.
They also fire at you when your in the line of an enemy but if you fire them ironicly it's gameover.
Some levels were also to chaotic to me, the game doesn't motivate you to sneak nor to go straight into battle, they should call the game sniper of duty 4 but you don't get a sniper all the time, and even if it was a sniper game the enemies also fire in your direction all the time even if you take cover and i know they can't see me.
This game is an insult to my senses.
I loved Halo and Metroid Prime but this game deserves a 4/10 to me.
Phew, i got it of my chest."
