does anyone know if i could buy this after midnight 2night (e.g 12:30am) from Tesco (Open 24 Hours) as it will november 4th (Release Date). wanna get it b4 i go work cuz it will be probably be sold out when i finish.

Does it still need fw 2.00 (ie its not trying to get you to install 2.01 or 2.50)

Please confirm as my missus has mine on order for me for Christmas and I will ask her to return it if it needs 2.01/2.50

I just bought mine (hurrah!)

Currently my PSP has the following setup: firmware 1.50, tricked into believing it's 2.0 (using WAB version changer). And when I try to launch the UMD, I get the FFFFFED3 error.

So I can confirm that:
* It requires only 2.00, not 2.01 or 2.50 (else it would ask me to upgrade, which it doesn't)
* It doesn't work with 1.50

So I guess it is exactly like the US version. I'm going to dump it using UMDEmu and try to make it work using 1.50, but I'm afraid like for the US version, the only solution (for now) will be to upgrade to 2.00

Just picked up mine this dinner. Cant wait to try it out later. I'm not worried about upgrading, I did a test run yesterday & it only took less than 5mins to upgrade then downgrade back. It is a really simple process

Under the UMD disc icon is has the update icon but it only says 2.00, this could be a trick and it upgrades to 2.50, not sure.

Read Theolondon's post above. It is only 2.00

Got mine at lunch time. Havn't upgraded yet as i wnted to give swbf2 a quick play first.

Will play tonight :D

I can confirm that its 2.00 too. I upped and downgraded a few times just to make sure, it all works fine.

Does anone know if it's gonna brick my jap psp if i upgrade with the umd or the us firmware?

Or do I have to use the jap update and swap my buttons back to the wrong way around?

It was fine for me. I had a Japanese 1.5 and I updated using the GTA disk, then downgraded using the US 1.5 firmware.

I'm not sure about the button swap though. Maybe its best to do a system reset first.

You can put a US firmware on a JAP system or vice versa, does not matter really.
