Wii Bacups without Modifcation. Is this a scam?

I came across this website, to me it looks like a scam however I thought I would ask your opinion on it. Any thoughts?

That software is as fake as Jordan's tits, avoid it! This company is probably also involved in other snake oil scams such as movie downloaders etc... GameCopyPro apparently comes with "Free game Downloads" and I'll eat my own hair if that isn't just some lame GNUTella client (like Shareaza).

More importantly, the software cannot do more than your dvd writer is capable of and it simply isn't able to write the "security" data to the disk. imgburn is the most comprehensive burning software around and it's not capable of reading or writing that data either. This is why a "mod" of sorts is required on the console... To fill in those gaps or just stop the console from caring.

Apologies for being vague but this applies to all consoles - this bullshit software wont work for any of them.

I'm not sure but that still requires a computer cable to be soldered to the wii (I believe) so I would still count this as a modification.
