Hi all,

I've just acquired myself a Wii (not new) but its faulty - when powering up the console I get a black screen / no signal, I can insert / eject disks but the wiimote won't sync.
The Wii hasn't been modded afaik as all the little stickers over the screws look to be intact.
There is a small dent in the bottom of the case but apart from that everything looks ok.

I've ordered a Triwing screwdriver so I can have a poke around inside it, but I was just wondering if this is a known/common problem ?
Any thoughts on what it could be ?

congrats buddy sounds like you bought a funky white papper weight.

its been bricked although it looks unmodded or unopened its possible to make it appear that way with any console if you take your time and keep all the seals so im guessing he either has done this or he has played around with the twilight hack and bricked it that way, more likely if its never had a chip in it.

As far as i know there is nothing to fix a full fledged brick like in your case but i was in a situation like you i did buy one off ebay because he told me it was a different problem how it would turn on for a sec then turn off, this is caused by a short usually on the DVD drive i fixed this and found to my dismay it was bricked too.

No way to fix it i know but if your up for a good case of fraud do what i did buy a brand new one from electronics boutique and swap the bricked mother board with the new one and return it for another wii then flog that wii on ebay.

before you all start saying dont do that its illegal i got ripped off on ebay so i ripped EB off and if we all remember algebra two wrongs DO make a right:rolleyes:
