Tutorial by TheRevengeOfGod (aka TheSeventhSin)
Questions & Answers:
Q.: Why does the game crash at title screen ?
A.: Because you rebuilt the all.pak file without rebuilding the lba table.
Q.: Why does the game crash at mem card loading screen ?
A.: Because you dummied movie(s) with incompatible / too small dummy pmf.
Tools needed:
a) ISO Buster.
b) ExPERT Tool and psp_Pursuit_Force_4_pak.epi.
c) UMD Gen v1.00.
d) A zerobyte dummy file.
1. Extract your full game .iso (no rip) using ISO Buster.
You get UMD_DATA.bin & the PSP_GAME folder. Size: 1,15 GB.
2. Get ExPERT tool and Pursuit Force Plugin @ alucard.cc website.
Copy the psp_Pursuit_Force_4_pak.epi plugin into ExPERT tool's 'ExPERT-Plugins' folder.
3. Start up ExPERT tool.
Select psp_Pursuit_Force_4_pak.epi under 'Plugins'.
Open 'ALL.pak' under Big File, 'Open'.
Click on 'Extract LBA'.
Click on 'Extract File'.
4. Ripping.
ALL.PAK was extracted to a folder called '@ALL.PAK' in the same folder
ALL.PAK is located. You might rip whatever you want, but LEAVE ExPERT tool OPEN ALL THE TIME !!!
Important:
4.1 Ripping files inside '@ALL.PAK' folder:
First, I suggest ripping out all foreign speech files in speech folder:
\PSP_GAME\USRDIR\@ALL.PAK\Data\Sounds\Speech\
Example:
If you want german speech, simply leave everything in this
folder which has '_ge' in its title and dummy everything else
in this folder using zerobyte files.
You'll have to switch the psp in the system setting to the
language of the speech files you didn't replace using dummy files
(in our example that would be 'German' or 'Deutsch').
if you want the game in french, do exactly the same, leaving
'_fe' files instead of '_ge'.
if you want the game in english, do exactly the same, leaving
'_en' files instead of '_ge'.
etc.
4.2 Ripping the movies
I suggest ripping the foreign movies using zerobyte files.
After you've done that, you'll need to switch your psp to
the corresponding language of the language files you didn't
replace by dummies.
e.g. if you want german movies, leave the files that have
'_ge' in the title and dummy the others using zerobyte files.
IMPORTANT:
if you want to dummy:
'PursuitForce.pmf'
or
'pursuitforce_preview.pmf'
use 'bigbigstudios.pmf' as dummy file, because the zerobyte or
the 18K dummy files will cause your RIP to crash at loading screen !!!
5. After you're done dummying, click on 'Rebuild File' in ExPERT Tool.
After NEW-ALL.pak was built, click on 'Rebuild LBA'.
You can close ExPERT tool now, you should have a proper ripped
'ALL.PAK'.
6. Don't forget to delete all the temporary files that were created by ExPERT Tool, including the LBA TXT files, the @ALL.PAK folder, the ALL.pak file and rename
'NEW-ALL.pak'
to
'ALL.pak'
7. Drag & drop the UMD_DATA.bin & the PSP_GAME folder into UMD Gen's
Main Window, goto File/Save As/ and save your ISO.
8. You can now enjoy your personal RIP version of Pursuit Force.
HAVE FUN and don't forget to post FULL SOURCE of this tutorial if you want to post it to another web site !!
