I don't really see what new areas they could go into with this game anyway, new songs, should be fun

you guys must be total newbs when it comes to rock band.. rock band 2 is sure to have alot of features rock band 1 lacked, but yea most of all new songs.
Guitar hero world tour falls flat because of the fact that its the gh3 engine, unless they shape it up that is.

well it definitely looks similar if not exact to RB ... but according to Harmonix once you pick up 2 you will never want to go play 1 again.
They have not mentioned much about what 2 will consist of other than bigger better bands but they did mention that you will be able to do things to the tracks that will change the way you play along with the music.
I'm going with custom note sets personally with full sharing capabilities.
I'm sure they are planning something big ... why else release RB 2 when RB 1 is still rocking.
And the fact that DLC will be compatible between the two games is awesome.

Judging from that trailer alone, I saw nothing new. That's not to say that there won't be new features in RB2, but they didn't even show anything interesting in this trailer.
Why release a trailer when the only thing new it showcases is 1 song?
WHEEEEEHAAAAAH!!! Lets wait for this one one year more before it releases in the Europ!! Should be very fun picking up the first one when the secend will be released in the USA similary to the first one in the Europ :D

SWEET! it looks the exact same, which to me, is AWESOME.
the first game rocked! why change a winning formula!
(to the that dont know, you can import RB1'S DLC, which imo, makes RB2 the clear winner of next round.)

Its basicly where they missed out in the first one they are makinmg up in this one.
As I have heard the drumset is different and so are the guitars.
I havent played the 1st rock band not being able to shell out $200 for 1 game, but It would be nice to have more realistic instruments since most of the people who play it think they are god musicians

its the same instruments. the exact same. and the DLC is backward compatible...unlike..some other game.
the only difference is that you can buy premium instruments.

jacka$$ yourself, what i mean is, anyone with an actual set of RB1 instruments can just go and pickup the standalone RB2 version and rock it without dishing out another 200$

If you meant that say that ... with the way you said it you made it seem like they where the same ones ... maybe you should have said the instruments are also backwards compatible ...
