Team Xtender have posted an article titled How To make PSPOnTV (A competing product in the PSP to TV adapter market). Team Xtender have taken a rather comical approach in their latest news release and have even mocked up their own version of PSPOnTV.

<center><A href="http://www.maxconsole.net/content_img/How_To_Make_PSP_ON_TV.jpg"><img src="http://www.maxconsole.net/content_img/How_To_Make_PSP_ON_TV.jpg" height="150" width="225"></center></a>
<center><i>This Team Xtender mockup aims to break the PSPOnTV device into its key components, a pyramid mould and a camera ontop - kind of similar to those pin hole camera's we were all encouraged to make as kids :).</i></center></a>

Take a camera with a video output and a piece of cardboard…cut the cardboard into the shape of a pyramid and hey presto you have created the PSPOnTV! Forget forking out 100 bucks for a high school type DIY project which will have many flaws as we will kindly illustrate to you below -:

NO dual shock PS2 controller support – that means you will have to try and play your PSP games on the big screen with a top-heavy and bulky PSP. Forget about going to the GYM, you can conduct those bicep curls whilst playing GTA: LCS with the PSPOnTV. Let’s not forget it’s other purpose as a chin rest after your hard workouts ;-).

Once you actually clip on the PSPonTV there will be minimal thumb space on your PSP, ultimately this will hamper your gaming experience considerably. Would you spend your hard earned cash on a device which will actually make your gaming experience inferior? We didn’t think so!

We have noticed Blaze’s attempt into the market, which rather unfortunately does look like a clone of PSPOnTV. Don’t be fooled by these inferior devices, they will be cloned by the masses as they are incredibly simple to make as we explained in the first few lines to an extent. There is only one minor flaw with the PSP2TV and that is the install is slightly harder, but the benefits of being able to use your dual shock controllers as well as a smooth direct capture far outweigh this minor disadvantage. This is no secret, and to hear our so called competition continuously use this ‘voiding warranty rant’ as ammunition just gets so mundane…

There is only one thing you can be sure of in the PSP to TV adapter market, our PSP2TV is the best solution for your big-screen PSP needs. Nothing else will ever come close the unparalleled success of the PSP2TV ;).

Stay tuned for an installation video coming up soon, the install only took 14 minutes to complete – 14 minutes for a trouble free PSP movie and gaming experience on the big screen.

P.S Did we mention that the PSP2TV will be ready for shipping to all our power sellers by the middle of next week?

We can't wait to receive our review samples of the PSP2TV sometime next week, may the PSP to TV adapter wars commence! The PSP2TV device has something which we are really looking forward to, the dual shock controller compatibility.

Who the hell wants to play psp games on their TV anyway... unless you don't have a psp and u wanna use an emulator but seriously, psp on a tv screen... it destroys the purpose of playing on the go...

I think that its pathetic that they feel they have to attack the cheaper products. They are doing this for one reason alone - because there product is MANY TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE therefore their afraid of loosing some sales. Add that to the fact you have to open your psp and void your warranty (yes they dont tell you what happens if you f@ck up the install) you will be ON YOUR OWN, and even if you dont f@ck it up you will most likely get dust under the screen - which means you will be opening the psp again to try and clear it. I for one will not be buying there product - i think its pathetic that they attack the competiton which is technically inferior. thats the reason i wont be buying this one.

How does one manage to **** up a solderless installiation?
Also the whole part of marketing is to make your product sound better. Its not attacking either they're just pointing out the obviously and helping to prevent people from cashing in on the idea they created first. Next people who wanna play there psp on tv are the same people who liked the GBA tv out or the GBplayer for GC. Trust me the market is huge and its there. Theres tons of exclusives for these systems and playing them on a big screen while your at home is always better than sitting there playing on a tiny screen while your widescreen plasma is just sitting there going to waste.

Ok picture this if you will.
User opens psp, attaches the product, closes it up and notices dust under the screen. User reopens there psp to remove the dust, and scratches the screen. That can only happen when the psp has its protective faceplate removed.
Its also very possible as most people dont have access to a vacum chamber to remove all the dust from the operating area.
Anyway i dont think ill be convincing you im just pointing out the reasons i wont be buying it.
Also its not what they did its how they did it. You dont see sony telling people how to turn there pc into an xbox do you? or see nintendo explaining how to make a psp? so why point out how to make the competitions product? i see it as petty. I have nothing against the product itself - it is technologically superior but removing the faceplate for the regular person on the street leaves it open to possible damage - i was just pointing this fact out.
