Xbox.com has now updated its Soul Calibur IV listing for the Xbox 360 and have removed the tab which said a HDD was required!

Well, then try to go to high, covered with snow, mountains with the expedition and use the lions to carry 100kg of your luggage each.

Oh my. I think we've hit a new level of stupidity
On another note I was irate when I thought this was true. I'm a fighting fan and soul caliber is great. Very well done. Thanks for not letting the fans down with a 360 arcade!

No it simply means that they assume your xbox will rrod before it needs the harddrive.

I think this game will be gimp? DVD9 can fit that much data?? Background, the moveset (clone?), character details etc. How many stages was there? I don't want to buy USD60 game for DVD9. I had it with scratches and lousy quality box & disc.

UK version is optional install for PS3, so there is a good chance it will be the same for the US version.

Sorry fellas, optional install > no install option.

Installations are only good when you don't need to have the discs inserted, like cracked PC games.

Agreed... previous news on Maxconsole stated PS3 version has an OPTIONAL install... I think that makes it about the same as the 360 version No install or is it possibly Better to have an optional install?...

if the install makes the game load faster i'm all for it.

but what about if you play online and the other guy doesnt have it installed?

does anyone know why there is an optional install for the ps3?

if you happened to be dumb enough to read and trust a yes-asia typo and xbox.com that is a new level of stupidity, the rest of us knew it wouldn't need an hdd and no game beyond burnout or that crappy football manager will ever need an hdd. even then the install was sub 1mb :D

yay, so now 360 owners can sit and listen to their 360 drive rattle and clank while it re-reads the same data over and over and their HDD sits there unused. perfect!

Optional installs would be perfect and as hard as 360 fans love to ignore it, their console and the games WOULD be better if it was implemented. Its a fact of the technology that HDD installs ARE better due to optical read speeds being so much slower in both machines.

is this news? are any of the 360 games required to use the hdd?

Final Fantasy 11 on 360 needs the hard drive, as most MMO's probably would.

MMORPGS use it, segas football manager needed a small amount of hdd and burnout paradise needs an hdd to play online. Aside from mmorpgs none of the hdd required games require large installs. Its more like cache instead of install.
