A customer service manager at a leading UK console repair company has told a publication that "I can't really comment on that story in today's Mirror. All I can say is that we have had very few Elites in for repair since they launched last year." With a bit more time, we'll know for sure if these stories about huge amounts of Xbox 360 Elite RRoD repairs are excessivley stretching the truth.

"We don't deal directly with the three red rings problem any more, although we would still have heard from our retail clients if it was becoming an issue with the Xbox 360 Elite.

"I can't really comment on that story in today's Mirror. All I can say is that we have had very few Elites in for repair since they launched last year," Croft added.

So from Micromart's point of view there is no widespread or 'endemic' problem with Xbox 360 Elites overheating and suffering the dreaded three red rings.

complete bullshit, do a search on ebay for "elite 360 as-is"

every day there are like half a dozen released for sale with the RROD problem

and that is just with that fine parameter search...

they're trying to piss on us and say it's just raining!

has anyone done the research here? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
the reason micromart (which is the repair company) doesn't see many 360 elites is not due to low failure rate, for the last six months to a year micromart has not accepted RROD 360s.

Micromart continue to reject consoles suffering the 3 Red Lights fault. The Microsoft offer of an extended 3 year warranty for consoles submitted with that problem is the preferred solution for users. It should be noted that consoles that have had the Microsoft seal removed will have difficulties submitting consoles to Microsoft when problems occer.

We can all have a bash at the daily mirrors failings but if you cannot factcheck the person you've quoted to discredit a newspaper item.. you're just as bad Adam Hartley.

It's just garbage the retail clients wont tell micromart since they no longer accept them, that or micromart is protecting themselves so they dont loose repair contracts. The evidence just points to 'a friend of a friend' post.

I thought I would, just for shits and giggles.

And you're right. Going to ebay.com and typing in "elite 360 as is" brings up 69 matches. Sure, 99% of them are from the same seller, but you made your point.

But again, for shits and giggles, I typed in "ps3 as is" which bought up 329 matches.

Well, that surely tells a story all on it's own.

I also typed in PS3 as-is, and got 331 matches. I also tried "Wii System" as-is and got 60 matches.

So that theory was garbage.

I've only seen one Elite with the RROD in my time at GameStop.

But amusing while it lasted ;)
