A spokesperson for Codemasters has revealed that the GRID rankings were reset with the latest update for Xbox 360 as there were many gamers who were abusing the ranking system to get unfair ranks. He went on to say that Codemasters think most people play online for the fun of it and not for just loads of points...

Hi all,

Given the number of reports we've had of people abusing the ranking system to get unfair ranks, it was only fair that we did a reset.

It's never an easy decision to make, and we'd rather it hadn't come to this, but changes in the patch should make gaining those ranking points back fairer.

We'd like to think that people play online for the fun of it, not so much the amassing of points, but if you find yourself in this sort of situation, it's the fairest solution.

if people are cheating then yes, reset theres... but they really shouldnt be affecting the people that are not cheating... I would be really peeeed of if I got my COD4 stats reset on my PS3 (wish they would deal with those using Lag switches)...

You should be amazed how many ppl do it for the points!

It maybe starts for fun, but isn't the game also made to get as much points as possible, You gaming makers build in that option and it's something ppl get proud of, on how well the did, ressetting everybody's points is unfair, just go hunt after those that cheat, But yeah, you take the easy way, just resset all.
