Another shooting 'over a games console - Xbox 360

Police have released a 911 call from a man claiming that his roomate had been shot and killed in an argument over the Xbox 360. In the 911 call, the roomate was asked about a possible motive and the caller said someomeone was trying to steal the Xbox when he was just shot as he was trying to get out of the door.


Crime scene investigators recovered a weapon that may have been used in the shooting in a dumpster near the house.

Police Chief Steve Moody said, “The 911 communication operators who took the call did a great job of gleaning as much

Burwell was taken into custody. He pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder with a death penalty specification.

In the 911 call, the roommate talked about a possible motive. The caller said that Johnny was trying to steal his X-Box when he just shot him as he was trying to get out of the door.

Moody said, “There is an indication this was over the X-Box, but of course, that is a statement form the defendant.”

The case will eventually be turned over to the grand jury. At this time, Burwell is being held on a $250,000 bond.

This just makes no sense at all, absolutely no sense...Killing someone for an xbox 360...it just makes no sense...now if it was a PS3 then I can see it, but a 360?? What is this world coming to , murdering someone for a M$ product. I guess someone from M$ will say something like," 360 is so great, people would kill for it".

I dont think the guy would of been shot because he was just stealing a M$ product more like the burglar was caught in the act of robbing & deserves everything he got,I mean if i caught a stranger in my house trying to rob me & if I had a gun i wouldnt hesitate in blowing his brains out,Only thing is I live in the Uk & over here I would probably do life for protecting my home & family,whereas the robber/burglar may get off with a lite sentance if he killed me (probably claim he has some kind of drug problem or it was in self defence)if you ask me if these people have nothing better to do(like get a job) then send them to iraq or afganistan it may just give them little different perspective on life???This just makes no sense at all, absolutely no sense...Killing someone for an xbox 360...it just makes no sense...now if it was a PS3 then I can see it, but a 360?? Read the article more carefully it says that the shooters room mate took the 360 and was running out the door. (He was not some stranger/burgler!) If you are stupid enough to shoot your roomy in the back over something like this (instead of simply getting it back from him) then be prepared to get arrested... convicted... and go to the "pound you in the ass" penitentiary.
