HDLoader is stalling on the splash screen with Sony HDD...WTF?!

Hey guys, today my HDLoader started stalling at the splash screen. I've been using it with the stock PS2 HDD for a while and never had this issue. I tried formatting the HD using WinHIIP but no luck. Any ideas? I'm thinking about getting a new HD but i'm not sure if it's that. The jumper setting is set on Master. I tried changing it anyway, but got a message saying the HD wasn't detected.

Not sure what the issue could be, it was working fine until today :(

Perhaps it was damaged somehow and you didn't know about it as you weren't around when it happened. Or perhaps the drive has just died off. HardDisks don't have all that long of operational lives. Depending on use, you could have one working over a decade long, or if you use it frequently have one dead in a couple years.

listen closely to it. you may hear it click or not spin up at all. Those are usual signs of a dead drive.
