On Light Guns:

On Steering Wheels:

People like it because its fun, and can make them feel like a "rock star", its fun, its sociable and people enjoy it. What I don't get is that most of the people I see offended by games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero are the amatuer guitarists, real musicians I know all seem to love it. Hell I know a guy thats been a session guitarist for the past 20 years and makes a decent living at it, he thinks Rock Band is one of the greatest games ever. Its fun, relaxing and a totally different experience from the discipline and work required to play a real one. I myself have a collection of 7 guitars and have played for around 15 years, but still love a good Rock Band jam with my kids or friends.

Good post grapeape.
To stay on topic though, this guitar looks exactly the same as the old one but with a paint job. I can see the same old loose strummer from RB1. After selling my rockband kit because of how pissed off I was with the extremely cheap instruments, I'll be waiting for the GH:WT drum kit and use my old GH guitars for both RB1+2 (hopefully they're supported in 2). Red Octane FTW! ;P

Yep, you are the only one, that paint job is a strat classic, beautiful, just like the real one (except it's a toy :o)

Probably...thats a classic sunburst finish, pre late 50's strats with that finish routinely sell for over $50,000. I guess it depends on how old a person is, the sunburst paintjob has kind of fallen out over the past 10-15 years mainly due to the quality of materials in todays guitars.

Exactly like Grape said,
I also have been playing guitar for about 15yrs on and off. I got a Taylor acoustic that cost more than my first 3 cars I had combined and I play RB more than I play with the real one.
My friend that I play with is also my drummer, or at least was when we would get together and play. Its a bit easier to get together and play RB for a couple of hours than go rent a studio and and have a drummer and guitarist screw around with no desire to try and do anything more than just have some fun playing.
Sure RB isn't going to teach you to play guitar, but maybe it will get people interested in actually trying to learn how to play or turn them on to some new music. If its not your thing than don't play, just like if you don't like RPG's or FPS games steer clear from them.
Back to the game, I can't wait for this to come out especially since all the DLC will be compatible with both versions. That is one thing that keeps me away from GH, besides the fact that GH3 was just absurd on the expert difficulty. Seems like they made it difficult just for the sake of it. RB feels more natural. I just hope they change the way the overdrive on drums gets activated. The fills throw off the rhythm of the songs sometimes.

Im looking forward to it also, I have both GH3 and RB and imho no matter what World Tour offers I am going to get RB2 first. I dont mind a certain level of difficulty, in fact I expect it, but GH3 to me got to the level that it stopped being fun, plus I didnt care for about 2/3rds of the tracks available.

Definitely, plus the fact that they are so against letting you use RB instruments in their games is a huge problem. I love the Les Paul and use that for RB but I dont really feel like getting another drum set, though the raised cymbals and the overall look of it seems a bit more inviting.
They are driving that series into the ground with the band centric versions. They could have added Aerosmith songs as DLC and probably have made the same money and not have spent as much since there would be no packaging and no manufacturing. I like Aerosmith but not enough to spend $60 on a game with mostly their songs, though King of Rock would be fun.
Finally getting the best of the Who in two weeks, and they are hinting at a great lineup of artists for the second and all songs are master recordings.

just to verify... the GH controllers work with RB but RB controllers do not work with GH, right? I'm not a fan of my RB junk either and am itching to dump them and get GHWT when it comes out.
