d2ckey stops eject and insert function

hi i just bought a d2ckey presoldered and han no problems following the fixing instructions.
the problem i have is that the eject and the insert function will not work, the rom drive dosent work at all!!!
when i take the clip of all is ok and working fine and when i place back on the same problem happens.
any ideas????

i guess you have the wiiclip. take out and re-seat the clip maybe that will help or just get rid of the clip and have the chip wire to the motherboard.

your problem is the clip as elmostro suggested , try and reseat it make sure it is seated correctly all around the chip, there are very small components to the rear of the chip make sure you haven't damaged them trying to push the clip on.

your better option is to get rid of the clip and get yourself a d2pro9 or an aragon and get it installed without the clip.

I've got the very same problem. I bought a D2ckey presoldered on a Wii clip. I didn't want to go through the fine soldering that's required an don't want to wreck my Wii. I tried refitting the clip several times now without success. The drive is not responding when the clips on it. Is there a way of finding out if the clip is damaged? Is buying a new clip a good idea or will i have the same problem then? I don't see myself going through the difficult d2ckey installation... Any other ideas anyone?
