Getting past the namco screen with the tales 512 rip + English patch

hi i'm new here and this is my first post I found a way to get past teh namco screen.

First off I own the original game and dumbed it on my 2gig stick.

the 3 files
-b.v
-fc.v
-s.v

do not delete those as mentioned before.
just copy them and place them for backup in case something is wrong
1 of these files (fc.v ) is 190 Mb or so open it with notepad (this may take a long time to load) once it's opened you'll see abunch of symbols and all select the whole text and delete it now it will be empty.
Save the file and do this to the other 2 file too these 2 will go faster.

then rebuild it with VCDrom and voila it works.

Now it works for me and i can make new games.
just turn of the sound in the options menu and play.

This is the same as the way I stated but ur just deleting the content of the original files.....I just dummy mine(which is the same) and it worked fine for me.....but great find as a alternate way to do this since so many people have been having trouble. I still dont know why my way works for me and a couple other people who pm'd me got it to work.

yes at first I did what you said but i guess with some pc's when you create a text file and then rename it it still will be a text file and not a v file that is what happened to me first then i tried this and it worked so I tested it and it worked for all so maybe it works for more people now.

Anyway thnx for your help by the way without your post I wouldn't even tried it :p

all you have to do is use quotations around the file name when you use the extension.

I.E. use "b.v" as the file name and that will create a file b with the extension .v

hmmm.....I'll write a batch file for this so we can have it put in the official thread that they have a sticky on.

I been playing for awhile now and when you delete some of the files from data I think and replace the english patch, when You try to go into the travel part of the game to another city, if you try to camp , like press Square, the game freeze and shut down. THe iso I have is around 447mb.
