Has anybody here actually bricked their Wii by installing the homebrew channel?

All apps should come with that warning, cos there's always variables so it's always a possibility.

It'd be wrong of them not to, but the chances are very, very slim provided you follow the instructions & guides properly.

very very tiny chance to brick while installing something. and nintendo cant brick ur console for having the HC, but if they find out in the future they could ban it from online *although nothing like that has happened so far. :)

The only way of a chance of bricking is user error, as long as you follow guidelines you will be fine, and I doubt ninty will ever ban people from online, as it aint worth being banned from.
