Ok I am new to this whole wii zelda hack bit and I am trying to do my research. I understand the basics of what is involved as I have hacked xboxs and PSPs for a while now. But I do have some simple questions.

1) What all does the hack actually allow one to do? Is it basically for Emulators only and other small homebrew or does it do anything BIOS wise that would allow booting of DVD-R media such as backups?

2) How good are the emulators? Im most interested in NES, SNES, and Genesis. Are they emulated correctly for the most part? As for the N64 emu is it the one Nintendo uses for the VC (sort of like the sony PSX emulator on PSP)?

3) I have heard about running of memory or something with the wad files? Wouldnt that space be used on the SD card and not the wiis internal memory?

Again sorry for the noobish questions but I want to have a good understanding of whats going on before I attempt the hack. Thanks for reading and please let me know.

1. No it will not allow you to play backups. (dvd-r and etc). All it does is let you install homebrew and WADS (vc and wiiware backups).

2. The emulators are at the same quality of project64 (its a pc, xbox, and 360 nintendo 64 emulator. No the emulator is not the orginal nintendo developed emulator.

3.WAD On your computer --> to sd card --> installed on wii internal memory just like any other legit channel.

For VC wads, they will use Nintendo's own internal emulator. But for 3rdparty/homebrew emulators, they will be in .dol or .elf form that can be launched using any homebrew launcher (HBC/etc) or packaged into .wad files to be installed into wii's main memory as channels.

So can I take a homebrew emulator and assign it a image for the channel window and slap it on there and it will look like real (or real as in not a hacked thing)???

Also if I do that can the channel homebrew emulator launch its roms from the SD card or must the roms also be on internal mem with said emulator?

You install the emulator into the Wii and it will show up as a channel (with its own banner).
When you select the channel it will launch the emulator after which you direct yourself to the roms on your SD card ;)

Ok thanks for clearing that up.

I have another question though, sorry lol.

Can I get a VC game from the PAL area and use it no my NTSC wii? I heard that MegaMan 2 was out in PAL for VC and thats my favorite game of all time.

Do you know where I might look for this application to change regions or where I might find information on it?

If its aginst the rules then please ignore it, but I am thinking its homebrew so it should be fine.
