Just installed my first Wasabi into a D2C(LU529..). I kept on getting Red Light even with a clean install. Unsoldered the Wasabi, and replace it with a D2Pro9 and move the clock wire to the appropriate spot for the D2Pro9, works, however, it's not all well with the Wasabi. Tried making the CLK wire long. First started out with:

16in - did not work at all
14in - got some greens, but mostly red.
12in - same
10in - same
8in - more of a red, red, red, green, green, green, red, red... always back to back.

So i tried to fix it with adding a 47uF capacitor to the K point and i grounded that on the DVD board(where the GND spot is for the D2Pro9), however, other people have a ground to the chip's GND point. Results were still the same, but at least the EJECT button works because of this. Other times i couldn't eject, and i would have to turn off the console and hit the EJECT button for the DVD to pop out.

I also added a 100ohm-resistor between the CLK point on the chip and DVD board.

Booted up, still red. Hit Reset on the Wii, now it's green. Booting up is never consistent, you'll either get a red or green, but hitting the Reset button, always guarantees a Green light.

Going to see if i can wire the Power Button to run in a series mode with the Reset Button, where if i hit the Power Button, it too will hit the Reset Button after it, and it should turn on the Wasabi chip.

Sucks because i'm getting no help from Wasabi, and we're basically doing their homework.

From OzModChips (http://www.ozmodchips.com/wasabi-modchip-9-wire-d2c-mod-chip-d2b-compatible-p-130.html) website they say:
Warning! Wasabi is a great modchip, but it struggles to work with about 5~10% of D2C drives because of a clock signal that is out of sync. The fix is to either install an extra capacitor, or to make an extra long CLK wire.

Guess you could try a longer CLK wire.

stick with the d2pro9 and forget the wasabi ,problem solved.

DVD drive just died. Been playing for close to 5hrs total for a few days now, then all of a sudden, i get a disc error. The drive doesn't spin anymore, but it'll EJECT. No problem, i'll just open it up just to double check if anything was bridge or fallen loose, nope, still doesn't spin. Took out the modchip and restore everything back to normal, still doesn't spin. Next morning, double check the points with a magnifying glass and plugged it back in, now it doesn't move at all. Doesn't EJECT. Took apart another Wii with the D2Pro installed and plugged it into the broken unit, works perfect, so it comes down to the DVD drive i installed the Wasabi on. Any suggestions?
