Just installed my first Wasabi into a D2C(LU529..). I kept on getting Red Light even with a clean install. Unsoldered the Wasabi, and replace it with a D2Pro9 and move the clock wire to the appropriate spot for the D2Pro9, works, however, it's not all well with the Wasabi. Tried making the CLK wire long. First started out with:
16in - did not work at all
14in - got some greens, but mostly red.
12in - same
10in - same
8in - more of a red, red, red, green, green, green, red, red... always back to back.
So i tried to fix it with adding a 47uF capacitor to the K point and i grounded that on the DVD board(where the GND spot is for the D2Pro9), however, other people have a ground to the chip's GND point. Results were still the same, but at least the EJECT button works because of this. Other times i couldn't eject, and i would have to turn off the console and hit the EJECT button for the DVD to pop out.
I also added a 100ohm-resistor between the CLK point on the chip and DVD board.
Booted up, still red. Hit Reset on the Wii, now it's green. Booting up is never consistent, you'll either get a red or green, but hitting the Reset button, always guarantees a Green light.
Going to see if i can wire the Power Button to run in a series mode with the Reset Button, where if i hit the Power Button, it too will hit the Reset Button after it, and it should turn on the Wasabi chip.
Sucks because i'm getting no help from Wasabi, and we're basically doing their homework.
