Want to get a wii chipped?

i aint a noob when it comes to modding 360's or psps, ps2's but am with wiis and will need to pay someone to do it for me. My Wii is apparently a GC2-D2C.

Am i right in saying the only disadvantages of getting it modded are voids warranty and also laser will eventually die?

Yes it voids the warranty but who the hell would know if you desoldered it? :D
I don't see any warranty stickers on all the wiis I've modded.

Unless maybe if you intentionally "boosted" the laser for whatever reasons like reading seriously worn-out discs or crappy media.
