Below is a video where Cliff Bleszinski seems to confirm that Gears of War 2 will have 4-Player Co-op at about 4 minutes in. Cliff recently told another site that "We're not announcing anything about co-op at this time, we'll probably get around to it around E3 time, but rest assured, it will be bigger and better."

That interview right there just made more excited for Gears 2 than I was for Gears 1.

even if gears of war2 had 8 player co-op i'm sure it will be no match for resistance fall of man2.

I would choose Gears2 over Resistance2. Though I really like Resistance but FPS games are lots of but when it come to good 3rd person games there aren't many. When I mean many I mean good games.
But I still looking forward to play Resistance2 without doubt.

Resistance wasn't even that good of a game. I'd rather see what Killzone 2 could do then bank on Resistance 2 coop being any good.

Cliff, you turd. Put this game on a system that I know isn't going to break and I'll buy it. My 360 won't be in this house for long.

Yeah put it on a system that makes you install the game and then wont work until you patch it, or delete everything on your HDD and then reinstall.

Both games will do well, I prefer Gears, wasn't too crazy about the brief time I spent with Resistance when I tried it but they will both sell really well and all gamers will have plenty to keep them busy this winter.

Why do we have to always compare games to each other?! Resistence was a great game but it was only a really polished shooter with some sick guns while Gear's graphics were and absolutely still are amazing, perfectly implemented cover mechanics that will influence games for the next generation(though I think GRAW did the cover thing first; I am not sure), and just amazing atmosphere for a game... I still play Gears while I haven't touched Resistence because I have other better multiplayer games that play in the similar fashion...

Hm, well, I'd prefer the installation and patching over the complete hardware failure, if I were to choose between the OP's and your slander of your respective favorites. And anyway, the patching isn't the manufacturer's fault, it's the devs' faults.

I've never heard the "delete everything on your HDD" problem on the PS3, though.. I don't have a 360 (yet? ever?), but if I could pick between Resistance 2 and GoW2, I'd pick GoW2. I'm sure they'll both be good, though. I do have Resistance 1, and it's a totally competent game. Probably longer, too.. but GoW1 (its contemporary) beats it in most respects.

Speaking of quality versus quantity... I was in Best Buy today and was torn between purchasing 2 games on clearance versus 1 game at retail.. The two clearance titles were Contra 4 for the DS and Folklore for the PS3 (combined clearance price: $35) versus Sins of a Solar Empire for $39.99.. I went with the clearance items, and granted I haven't played Folklore yet, but I'm already regretting the Contra purchase! ugh... It's hella hard to the point of not really feeling fun.

It goes back to all the posts that people should buy the PS3 version of GTA since it will probably kill your 360, yet I haven't heard of causing problems on the 360, only the PS3.

I was just trying to make the point that each have their share of issues, granted the RROD issue is alot bigger, but no system is perfect. Hell the Wii is having issues reading some DL discs and have to be sent in to be cleaned to play SSMB and MK.
Either way, fans of games should be happy that the industry is doing so well to support 3 consoles. Game sales are through the roof and the competition is pushing everyone to make bigger and better games for all systems.

unfortunately the rabid fanboys that usually clog up this forum dont see it this way....instead they see every thread with <insert console manufacturer here> beats <insert console manufacturer here>'s sales figure for the 16/5/08 by 2%, or <insert game title here> is exclusive to <insert console here>, as an opportunity to bag the **** out of <insert target here> to somehow gain some sort of shortlived ficticious victory in their own heads to justify their purchase of <insert piece of **** console here> that they honestly believe is the bee's frickin knees.

little do they know that all the consoles are the bee's frickin knees in their own ways, and that the quality of the games is all that matters in the end. however they all seem quite content choking on the **** of the latest PR rep and his "spin" on the current state of this fantasy battleground.

oh yeah...gears of war 2 looks great (as expected), and i'd be happy as hell to just have expanded 2 player coop again as long as it played as well as the first.
