I understand that most people bought a 360 exclusively to play online games (as they practically sh!t on anything that doesn't have online play), but still, we're talking here about a great fighting game for about 10 bucks. No Soul Calibur game had online play so far if I'm not mistaken, so while it would've been a nice addition, I still don't feel like I'm missing anything.
Personnaly, I still prefer my multiplayer games when played locally. I consider Live to be somewhat of a great solution when you don't have friends around. But I don't consider it to be the main attraction (But that's only me). I also play mostly with my friends when online as practically every experience I had playing with strangers mostly ended up in a game with complete morons or whiny american teens - which are often synonymous.
Even at 800 pts, with no online play, it is still a buy for me, as I don't have the DC version.

Good point, if you don't own the DC version then its worth getting, but thats the reason I won't get it because I still have my original copy.

I agree. the dreamcast version was the best and the prequel... soul blade I think it was.
The graphics look cartoony compared the 3 and I still believe Soul caliber 2 on xbox was really good.
But... pushing xbox live, then releasing a game like this with no multilayer makes no sense.
indeed damn u lazy M$
Lol so it is MS fault?

I'm still happy with my Dreamcast version (paid $70 for it on release day), but it is the best Soulcalibur game I have played. 2nd fav is Soul Edge on the PS.
IMO I think the new one just won't be that good either. I had some friends over when I first downloaded and watched the trailer and they burst out laughing when Yoda and Darth Vader appeared. Rabid fanboys may want it, but it's a bit of a lame joke.

I know of 9 people that were going to buy this that won't now, No online is really disappointing.
It's not like they have never made an online fighting game and its hard to do, Just think how lame it would be if MKIII of SSF2 didn't have online play.
We need one of those petitions asking them not to release this without online play or i guess just don't buy the thing.
Lol so it is MS fault?
well i would expect them to hold off the release till namco integraded online MP i wouldnt mind to wait month or so for online MP since part 4 aint coming out till late july or early august.
