I asked Divineo when it ll be out:
Hi,
The SD adapter will release on 28th due to the reply from the manufacturer.
Best regards,
Divineo CN
This really, really, really sucks for me.
I ordered it on sept 15.

I can't believe we have to wait till the 28th!...
Is there any word on speed and if games will run correctly like the Castlevania intro movie? I've heard there is a 4x DMA option or something for the CF, what about SD? Anyone have any idea.

Z80 has a good question, if the compact flash will run faster than the SD version I'd like to know too......what a pain in the ace it would be to wait til the 28th and still end up with the slower version

One of the reasons i'm waiting to buy an m3 is that i want to compare the sd version with the cf one. waiting sucks, but i want to see if they will make the sd version faster. i saw someone selling a 120x sd card (about 20 mbits/s), and if m3 can use this speed it would be nice...
another reason is that divineo.cn doesn't accept creditcard payments for my country, which also sucks a lot, and i'll probably end up paying more somewhere else...
Exactly, no one wants to get stuck with the inferior version and have problems with some game they wanted to play but it slows down horribly.

SO THE CF VERSION OF M3 ADAPTER IS GOING TO BE SLOWED I JUST FUCKING ORDERED ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What should I Do?! why would it be slower anyway?
You misread what I meant. The CF version with a good CF card and the DMA 4x option is said to be perfect, however that may not be the case with the SD version.

Well I'm using a CF card on 1x DMA and I haven't noticed any slowdown at all with any game so far :)
Try watching Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow's intro movie, directly off the CF card (not loaded into M3's RAM). It it runs smoothly, that's something.

Well I've just tried it, and it doesn't run smooth unfortunately. But I have a few questions:
- How can I load the movie into M3's RAM?
- Are the Sandisk Extreme III cards the fastest cards around? Will I be able to see everything smoothly with that card? If so, I'll buy one today :P

Whatever it is, Divineo finally has a 7 day waiitng period for the CF adapter. Its about f***ing time man I ordered that thing like a month ago, and all these delays have made me forget about it. Well at least there wil be that surprise feeling when I least expect it and there it is at my door :D

Well I picked up a SanDisk Extreme III card and put Castlevania on it with 4x DMA. It runs better than on 1x DMA, but still not perfect... :(
Sounds like the best solution is either a device with more RAM in it, or one of those devices like G6 or NeoFlash that are FlashROM based. Still I guess it's not that bad since only one game is effected that badly.

Never really noticed there was an NDS forum down here!
I wonder how the SD version will perform versus the CF, I'd prefer SD over CF since they're smaller and.. nicer =D
So castlevania is the only game which has slowdowns, and only the intro movie or is the entire game slowed down?

I'll be testing this one soon enough. It should arrive in a few days.

Only the intro movie has slow downs. A lot with slow CF-cards and just a few with fast CF-cards. No slow downs with any other game I've played so far.
I doubt if the SD version will be faster, since the maximum data transfer rate of the fastest SD cards is about 10mb/sec and the CF-card I have has a maximum transfer rate of 20mb/sec.

I'm not trying to make you wear an asshat, but
the new 150x SD cards can handle data transfer
speeds of up to 22.5 MB/sec.

Ah ok, I had no idea a card that fast existed. I just checked the SanDisk site and figured if they don't have it, then it probably doesn't exist. But I was wrong apparently ;)

Thanks for the info, not much to worry about playability of games thus far :)

SanDisk isn't the only comapany that makes the cards. Just so you know you might want to check Lexar and Kingston too.

I know, but I couldn't be assed to check loads of different sites :p
But the great news is that the Castlevania intro runs perfect now on my Sandisk Extreme III card. I sent them an email to complain about it and they didn't reply so they were probably already working on it. So today they released new software and it all runs perfect now :D :D
CV's intro runs perfectly on what exactly? M3 SD with some 150x SD card? Or what?

By SD, they mean Secure Digital (which is another flash memory format) not SanDisk the company.

I know that. Like I said, SanDisk makes some pretty fast cards, so I thought if I checked that site for the fastest SD card, there would probably not be a faster one by any other company.
