Attacking NES Mario isn't very nice. Otherwise, it looks pretty good, but I hope that the core gameplay is maintained in spite of the new reliance on vehicles as opposed to platforming goodness.

I despise how the video was consumed by vehicle clips....it's a platform game dammit =/
+ no 'original' kazooie attacks
+ what's up with the setting being a town?
Let's hope RARE proves themselves as worthy and keep traditional rather than being instructed by microsoft.

Nice job ruining a great franchise Rare. Or should we call them New Rare since most original people have left the company.
They should have kept the same game mechanics that made this game a success in the past. If they wanted to break out and do something new, then they should have made a spinoff game much like they did with diddy kong racing. At least they took the "3" or "Threeie" out of the name. However they should never have called it that in the first place if they had planned to change the gameplay so much.

alright, i get it. there are vehicles. now where is all the awesome platforming action that made the first two so damn great in the first place? And all of the cool varied envrionments. Does anyone else miss the old-school action platformer of the late 90's? I hope this game doesnt go the way of the goulies.

I got two major concerns with this game.
-Although not sure yet, there seems to be too much focus on vehicles (keep it a platformer plz).
-Overall,the game's art direction seems to have gone to a more realistic style wich i dont think suits Banjo Kazooie.
Small advice to Rare:Bashing Mario wont do you any good, although im not sure if you were since you only showed him and thats it.

Damn, that didn't look like Banjo Kazooie at all. :(
Why didn't they just make a platformer, nobody's waiting for a "rogue squadron meets lego island" type of game... or at least I'm not...

Rewatch 1:55, they don't only show him.

They were bashing Mario though: They blew his head off.
Though the graphics are great, it seems like they are just using their B-K IP to sell something new and justify Microsoft's investment. It's very disappointing as a B-K game. I mean, where's the ridiculous level of fetch-quest collectibles?! I only saw ONE music note in the whole video. The Banjo-Kazooie series is the only kinda fetch-quest I like (they ruined it with DK64, Conker's BFD, and *barf* Star Fox Adventures).

Hmm this pretty much sucks ass, most of the original RARE crew already left and now it is nothing more than a overrated game company producing so-so titles. The art style doesnt suit the banjo universe at all, and why the focus on all the vehicles?? The vehicles don't even look cool! And they probably going to advertise it with thousands of different vehicle combinations possible! Who cares!! They should have sticked to a platform game. But maybe it's to early to say but my gut tells me this is going to be a OK game but nothing more and nothing less.

Ah i see it now.I wonder if its some kind of weird commercial by microsoft for xbox360 loyalists or if Rare is mad at Nintendo or something >.>

Looks like a normal Banjo Kazooie game with a gumiship-like vehicle and a blocks arranged in the shape of NES Mario... Is Rare still allowed to use Nintendo characters in non-Nintendo games?

The game is based around vehicles, theres hardly any platforming at all, the main point of the game is to collect peices of vehicles and make it yourself to get past levels. AKA, pure dogcrap. This game went from highly anticipated to "lol viva piniata" type disaster. MS has no flippin clue what people want when its anything but racing and shooting games.

*cough* Insomiac Games *cough*
afaik, rare cannot use characters that are copyrighted by nintendo.
and by using this 8-bit NES style mario ingame, I'm pretty sure a lawsuit will follow.
I hope they won't be able to bring the game out at all.
BK belongs on a nintendo console, not on the 360.
they fucked up the game badly with stupid vehicles.
blowing mario's head off with banjo is like mario taking a **** on master chief's face.
and for the record, I do own a 360 and a Wii, but this stuff is just "not done".
I'll gladly pay 20$ more for a banjo title that is platform only and has many collectable items instead of a pimp-my-ride version.
the only thing that's still good about rare these days is the memory when ninty and them still worked together and releasing kickass games like DKC, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie etc :)

this could be cool if the drop the lame vehicle idea. at the moment they look like they're trying to target a very different market than the original banjo kazooie; all the vehicle modding and shooting rockets makes it look like they're trying to attract the Need4Speed/Halo segments of the market... but they dont realise those two segments are afraid of having their sexuality questioned if they play bright colourful games.
if they make a great true-to-their-roots platformer, they'd have an awesome game on their hands. not everything has to be "XTREME!!!!1!!" (ie. for 14 year old insecure boys)

they show trailers showing off the new vehicle aspect of the game and all of a sudden everyone is "OH NOES!!!! THEY RUINED MY NINTENDO GAME!!!!"
personally, i'm gonna take the wait and see approach and wait for a demo or some hands-on time with the final.

look, Mario and gang are driving around in karts, no platforming involved. it's ok though, cause it's mario and we all like to suck iwata and myamoto's c**k while being anal raped by mario and kirby, but it's ok, cause it's mario. let the game come out, play it, then bash. don't pre-judge, just because it is vehicle based. besides, MS didn't force vehicles, they just asked Rare to make a game to take advantage of their motion sensing controller.

agreed...
its just a video... no one has played it to say its mainly based around vehicles.
its all assuptions based on a short trailer.
Rare has already stated is way way way bigger than any other banjo game before it. so perhaps the vehicles are your means of transportation between areas??? perhaps??? or is that too far fetched... and the real truth is they ruined it and made it a cart racer with no platforming elements..
blah.. i'm sure the game will still be heavily focused on platforming.

Well, as everyone here says.. sucks that veichels are in the game... but almost every game these days incorperate driving, from the last few golden eye games to mario mini games.
Maybe this trailer was created to show what the driving aspect of the BK will look like? and they are just trying to sell it with that in mind. I loved BK 1&2 and I will give this one a chance to show me what is has to offer.

I agree that all the whiners and complainers should wait and see how the game turns out. I am confused about one thing, though. Are you referring to Mario Kart? A Mario racing game that Nintendo advertises as a racing game? If Nintendo had released Super Mario Galaxy and had him driving around in space ships, I could understand your analogy. Seems like you have some deep rooted hatred toward Nintendo, or their characters. I don't know what they've done to you, but I hope you win a multi-million dollar lawsuit for it.

Does it say "Banjo Kazooie: Platformer Paradise"?
No? Then your point about game titles does not make sense.
Sonic Rush, does not say Sonic Racing. Does that mean it tricked us into thinking it was a platformer? No it does not.
I have no Nintendo hate. I have FUCKTARD hate.
My point is game characters for Nintendo can do sports and racing, but anybody else that does that is killing their franchise.
I just want people to wait for it, play it, and then decide on the game.
Don’t pre-judge any unplayed game, like you pre-judged me on my feelings for Nintendo. I like Mario kart, especially the multiplayer, have since the SNES.
I like the Mario sports games also. Anyways, my bad, i'm rambling, sorry.

Let me put it to you this way: If the best they can do STILL doesn't equate to the experience I had playing Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, Microsoft seriously fucked up when they bought Rare and paid so much for it. They'd better get to work on a proper sequel BEFORE they do **** like this. Honestly, who gets "excited" by this video? *YAWN* If it was essentially an update like they did with Conker's BFD, I'd be more excited (and I HATED Conker). An updated *look* and some awesome new levels for what could only be called "Banjo-Ka-Threeie" would MORE than do the trick. This... doesn't. Instead, it has me wonder WTF Kazooie is even still doing in Banjo's backpack (eminating tractor beams?! why can't some new nameless character do it AND operate the vehicle without relying on B-K IP?!). It makes me wonder why they aren't exploring lush forrests, flying over ice-lands, and doing something that isn't in some abstract arena.

I didn't say anything about game titles. I was asking you about what game you were referring to. The Mario sports franchises are advertised as sports games. Not just in the title, but as to what kind of game it is. Like, if a game a shooter, racer, fighter, etc. If I go to a store and ask the clerk, "Hey, what kind of game is <insert game here>?" The clerk would tell me what kind of game it is. That's why your argument didn't make sense to me. You say no one complains when Nintendo makes a Mario sports game. That's true, but Nintendo didn't advertise platformers as sports games. I was nitpicking at your rant. It's ok to have vehicles in platformers, as long as it supplements the gameplay (Blastermaster2 comes to mind). The Jak games also had vehicle/racing type stuff in them, and I thought they were great. I will wait and see how good this next Banjo Kazooie is.
