Day one with my hacked PSP, so sorry if I ask really dumb questions. Here's what I have so far:

1. Bought the "Daxter" combo PSP (is that the slim? first PSP so not sure even which one I have.. Silver colour, says SPS2001 on the bottom)

2. Created the pandora battery and managed to install 3.90M33-3 firmware on it, all good there (took a few hours, but figured it out thanks to all the posts on the boards here)

3. Downloaded a bunch of emulators and ROMs and installed the into the psp\game150 folder on the MC (2GB Sony if it matters)

4. Tried running them with various results.

>MAME4AllPSPv4.9r2 loads, but Roms give an error after loading a few files "Unable to open ROM, Error reading ROMs, Unable to initialize machine emulation, LOAD FAILED"
>MAME4All 4.7 -- same result
>Sega Master System -- Works!
>Snes9xTYL 0.4.2me -- black screen and then an error "The game could not be started. (80020148)".
>Daedalus r13 -- same erorr "The game could not be stated (80020148)"
>Nester -- same error "The game could not be started (80020148)"

I'd like to get any of them running, so any advice is appreciated. I've tried to find any suggestions on the threads but it seems pretty specific to the PSP (slim/phat/???), the firmware, bunch of settings, etc. Nothing I've tried thus far seems to make a difference, so I'm stumped :)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes, you have a slim psp, the 1000 series are the orignal phat ones, 2000 series are the slims.

The problem you are having is that you have emulators that run off the 1.50 kernel. The slim psp is not able to run 1.50 kernel emulators because it can't run the 1.50 kernel so look for ones that are for 3.xx kernel.

or... Download this emulator easy installer from the link below. It'll run from your PC and install almost every emualtor to the right place. Just remember to follow the options of the slim psp.

PSP Tribe Emulators installer v4.0 HardBird Editio (http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Tribe-Emulators-installer-v4.0-HardBird-Editio-PSP/pg/12/fid/16428/catid/171)

I've used this installer to put emulators on my slim and phat psps. It works really well.

Ok, so I'm pretty much in the same boat except instead of emulators and roms I'm trying to run psp isos/csos. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks~

Thanks for the suggestions Sm0k3d 0uT -- I removed my previously installed emulators and installed from the link you gave, and I can now successfully run my Roms.

One quick question -- that installer didn't have a MAME emulator (unless I missed it). Any suggestions on a MAME emulator for the slim that runs on 3.90M33-3?

Thanks again!

I'm not sure about that, I haven't tried any mame emulators on my slim but I'll look in to it tonight and let you know.

It runs from your PC and puts the files automagically in to the right folders on your MS depending on the options you select.
