Mod Chip on a new Wii

Hi, i am thinking of buying a Wii, and i also want to get it chipped. Can you please tell me if there are any issues with mod-chips not compitible with the new models of Wii, Do i have to look for any particular Serial number ?

you will need a chip for a d2c console if you are buying a new wii either of these will do ,

d2ckey, wasabi, aragon, d2pro.

d2ckey is not updatable,
wasabi is updatable via dvd,
aragon is updatable using a jtag.
d2pro is updatable using a jtag aswell.

Is it as simple as that ? A few months back when i was checking, the new Wii's couldnt be chipped, has it all changed , you can buy the latest Wii and you can chip it ? Is that right.

jtag is a programmer you use to update your chips firmware by connecting the programmer to your computer ,then connecting the programmer to your modchip with a flat cable, then using a program from your pc to update your chips firmware. sounds complicated but its child's play.

i personally like the wasabi, but its not every ones choice, the end of the day its what you want,i have fitted no end of modchips and they all have good results,they all play the same amount of games around 70-80%.
as far as support goes, the aragon has good support in there forum.
as for the others you can always get support if you look hard enough in most forums.

Hi,

My Wii is three weeks old and I had it mod after a week.
My mod chip is a Argon with firmware 1.7b.
I have a Pal version with firm 3.2E on it.
Mario kart works great.
Also GC game´s work and the Nes-disc works on it.
