Bad install. If other backup/burned games don't read as well it can be confirmed that the installation of the D2CKey was faulty.

.....
don't conclude this so fast. could also be a bad media brand, or a bad burner, or a bad burn speed (should be 4x)

yea SMG shows up but when i boot it up that error message appears and smg is the first wii backup i tried. At the store where i modded it, the guy booted brawl with it and my gc soul calibur 2 boots up fine too

The reason I concluded so fast was because he had already told me what I needed to know to make the determination. He tried various burning methods and nothing worked for him. Leading me to believe there was a fault in the installation.

if the game is showing up in the disc channel, then your installation should be ok,
if origional are playing fine ? try burning your game to a different media e.g. verbatim, taiyo yuden at 4x.
if this doesn't help try cleaning your laser.

my gc back up still works but SMG was the first wii backup i tried. And the store where i got it from booted up brawl backup on my wii. And SMG shows up on the Wii menu but when i launch it , it gave me that error message. Imma try another Wii game first then i will probably know if they did a crappy job on my wii installation

if your wii is only 2 days old i think your problem is a burning issue , which media are you using? and what speeds are you burning at , have you got another backup you can test your wii with?
