Bricked Wii??

The chip seems to be in fine, and I think everything was working until: I put in an SMG backup and said ok to the update... it stuck for a while so i turned the system off and ever since the system can only read FW discs, config discs and gamecube games... any ideas? SMG does not prompt for update or read anymore and legit wii sports does nothing....

removed the wiikey and still GC only... new dvd drive time?

also, could unplugging the wii on a frozen update done this?

you will have to wait for Nintendo to release a new update on a game to sort it out.

If i have 3.2U and I put in a game with a lower version is there a chance it will ask to update? Thanks for all the help so far btw.

no mate it wont ask for an update ,as your wii has a newer update on it
