When I attempted to mod my wii with a wiikey, I ended up removing one of the solder pads by accident. Anyways I then ordered a new D2A drive which I have just installed. I'm not sure if my other drive was D2A, B or C, but now that I have installed the new D2A drive my wii cannot read any disks (when I go to the disk channel it comes up as "disk could not be read"). I was told that the drives were interchangeable? am I wrong? any ideas?

No you are not wrong, and your other drive could still be used, if you need someone to do repairs and have the WiiKey installed and updated, I have low prices, and when you get that error, you did not install correctly, I am experienced, and your best bet would be to have a professional do it for you. I would be more than willing to work out a deal with you for a reasonable cost. Feel free to message me.

thx for the quick reply, but i live in toronto, and i'm not willing to ship... perhaps i could get some1 in my own area to do it for me... I still don't see what i'm doing wrong in the install though.. i simply plugged in the 2 cables... simple enough (or so i would've thought lol)

Finding someone in your area is your best bet, but if worse comes to worse, I am an option as far as modding, shipping is traceable and you can insure your package. And I have alot of refrences on this site and many other, I also have videos and tutorials. This is my job, and modding with me you will not regret!
