Layer break is only for the dual layer disc

Just burn the dual layer one and you can play everything

If you want a Single layer working version of SSBB then you will need to do some work with Trucha Signer.

This guide will allow you to make a fully working (minus the movies) dvd5 version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl Ntsc USA , including fully playable subspace emissary, classic mode and 3.2u update.

Step 1: Obtain a dvd9 rip of the game (I used the WIIZARD DVD9 SSBB release for this tutorial)

Step 2: Run wiiscrubber on the iso , this will result in only the first layer of the dual layer disk being turned into an iso that is 4.37GB (4,699,979,776 bytes)

Download Link: SSBB DVD5 MOD v1.1 (http://rapidshare.com/files/99260861/ssbb-ntscusa-dvd5_v1.1.rar.html)

Step 3: Open the wiiscrubbed ISO with trucha signer and navigate to partition
(RSBE01) In the SYSFILES folder replace the main.dol with the main.dol file provided.

Step 4: Then navigate to the folder ROOT and then the subfolder module and replace the sora_menu_simple_ending.rel with the sora_menu_simple_ending.rel file provided. Then in the same folder replace the sora_menu_title.rel with the sora_menu_title.rel file provided. Finally replace the sora_adv_menu_ending.rel with the sora_adv_menu_ending.rel file provided.

Step 5: Navigate to the the ROOT/movie/param/us subfolder and replace each file (118 total) with the files provided to you in the (us) folder. You have to replace these one at a time so it will take a few minutes. Just take your time and make sure you replace them all.

Step 6: Right click on the partition (RSBE01) and trucha sign it!

Step 7: Close trucha signer and burn with imgburn at 4x (at least thats what I burn all my dvd's at)

Many people are also having this same issue with it giving a white error message screen after the game loads, if you continue to have this problem do not panic, simple go back to your torr*nt's and search for the NTSC version of SSBB and make sure it is 4.37 GB or packed close to it, also, search for the DVD9 NTSC version, burn that to a DL media at 2.4x as a DVD-ROM. Once both are burned, insert the DVD5, wait till it gets past where you normally have the error, then eject and insert the DVD9, the game will work fully functional, it may not be convenient, but it sure as hell beats not playing.

Here is my vid on this finding. Remember, I was #1 to find this out for those who do have the "please eject the disc error" on SSBB.

burn with verbatim dvd+ DL at 2.4x speed using imbburn with layer break 2084960 and it will work. dont waste your time with the crappy dvd 5 version its garbage, if you want to play the game in it's true glory you need dvd9 version. the sse half time doesnt work on dvd 5 and if you want all the characters unlocked (FAST) you need to play it.
