Gamesindustry.biz report Nintendo has unveiled the new Wi-Fi USB connector that will allow DS owners to take their handheld online if they don't have a wireless Internet connection.

The USB connector will go on sale in Europe on November 25 - the same date as online enabled title Mario Kart DS - priced £30.

Once it's inserted into a USB port on a PC, a window is opened to establish a link between the DS, computer and Internet. The user must then complete a three-step on the DS to get connected. The connector will not work with Macs as Nintendo is only supporting Windows at present.

Nintendo is probobly gonna charge out the ass and I just bought a nice hawking technology one for 5 dollars after rebate. Somebody should modify the drivers when they come out :-D hell if i can get my eye toy to work as a webcam why not this?

If you already have a wi-fi connection in your house you don't need to buy this. The DS will connect to any wi-fi connection fine, this is just for people that have broadband but don't have wireless in their house.

I could see someone possibly hacking this in the future. Kinda like what happened to the gamecube and tunneling.

The eye toy is a simple Logitech USB PC video camera, that's why it works so easily on a PC. This USB adapter isn't for setting up a wireless network between PCs, it will only communicate between the host PC and the Nintendo DS.

I hope it does more than just enable you to play online games.... web browsing or unique DS content would be nice.

from what i understand this will hook into your computer and turned a hardwired connection into a wifi connection. Actually a pretty cool invention. It's pretty much using your tower as a wifi base by using it's internet connection and transmitting with the usb dongle.

correction?

You can buy a regular stick. This stick is just like all the other sticks, the only differnece is that the Software that needs to be installed (driver) is on the stick itself. So instead of installing it from a cd the stick can install itself.
