You're kidding right???? Have you been on there? I bought a one-week-pass to check it out and the level of delinquency on the live system is almost nightmarish. Kids will actually threaten to kill you (like some to your house and kill you.) Then we wonder why people are killing others in mass murders. Media DOES have a connection to modeling for our kids (Bandura, 1974.) The more people say it doesn't, the dumber they appear. If you think video games and the media have NO affect on children, you've never read ANY of the psychological research. If you offer anecdotal evidence, then you're no better than the pop-psychologists on TV. Kids under 13 should not be on XBOX live or playing video games with violent or sexual content or watching listening to movies/radio with inappropriate content. To the naysayers, all I can say is pick up a book and read the evidence for a change.

Words Words Words Words Words

Without the little kids on xbox live I can't see myself playing a game alone without any friends. Hearing their little voices trying to sound tough and saying they went through puberty is worth the 50$ admission price on its own.

Makes you wonder what prolonged impact things like this have on society. I mean, when i was a kid and you talked crap at a basketball game you got your ass in a fight. Now, kids get online and have free rein to say whatever they want without knowing repercussions. I think kids are becoming more pu$$y's then before because they know they can't get into a physical altercation and talk crap.

I think everyone has their own mind, opinion, and voice. Everyone makes a conscious choice in what they do or say. Video games or other media do not make people violent - THEY ARE ALREADY VIOLENT. Violent people naturally gravitate towards violent things. They already need some kind of help. Video games may invoke their violent behavior just as a bully teases them or losing a sports game, for example. Video games are just another type of media people like to blame for corrupting youth but like anything, think of it as a tool. A tool can be used for good or bad. I can use a hammer to build a house but I could also use it to kill someone. You can use the internet to research a school project or make a homemade bomb. My point is that these things are not bad in nature, it is the way we choose to use them and it applies to practically everything - not just TV, books, games, music, etc.
There are millions of people who blow heads off others in the virtual world and know the difference between fantasy and reality. They know where to draw the line - easily. However, you do have some nut bags that give it a bad rep. Parents who let the TV raise their kids are in part to blame among other factors but definitely not the media itself - an average person with normal behavior can play video games just fine - this kid obviously has some anger problems/ lack of social skills for whatever personal reasons.

Media DOES have a connection to modeling for our kids (Bandura, 1974.) The more people say it doesn't, the dumber they appear.

Media does NOT have a connection to modeling for our kids when they are brought up correctly and know right from wrong and fantasy from reality. My parents played video games with me when I was young and I watched movies that were R-Rated for violence/cussing like Terminator 2 with them when I was about 5 years old and I really loved the movies but they explained to me that no one was really hurt, it was all fake, that's not the best way to go about things, and to just enjoy it for what it is.

I doubt this kids' parents play an integral part in his life so go figure.

Nothing new here. Sounds like half of the people in the Xbox Live community, not just the little kids.

they should seperate the kids into their own group on live. aside from all of them talking like this, their annoying squeeky voices make you want to shut off all chat options on live.

10 year old kids.

Gears of War.

Some parents seriously need to have the sh!t beaten out of 'em and their parenting license removed.

I don't have problems with kids playing moderately violent games, but Gears of War is NOT a moderately violent game.

More like a pre-apocolyptic I need to kill my way out type of game. That's my sh!t.

I just got Gears this week (I know, bit behind lol). Anyway, I got slated for killing an opponent because the rest of my team wanted to rape him (teabag). Jeez.

There's no reason why 10 year olds shouldn't be on live, but they shouldn't be playing gears of war or halo or any other violent adult game. Also, where the hell are these kids' parents? Any kid that has a mouth like that should have the crap kicked out of him by his parents, there's no reason any normal kid should be saying stuff like that. Blame the parents.

Thats a good point really, if my parents heard me talking that way my next word would be a tearful apology after my father took a belt to my backside.

That's bullshit. I play GOW everyday since the day it came out on PC and I have never witnessed any kids talking like that. I've heard adults talking like that and typing ****. Hell, I've typed some pretty nasty **** myself. But I've never seen it like that video.

the key word was PC in your post...

logically how many 10 year olds can afford to build a pc that can run gears as well as it runs on 360?

shouldn't the pc and 360 versions be cross-compatible with each other? if they are, that kinda eliminates the point made above by pCeSlAyEr.
