Rockstar has issued a brief statement concerning a variety of issues which plague the Xbox 360 version of Bully Scholarship Edition. Some Xbox 360's experience framerate issues, freezes and other problems. The spokesperson commented that this never happened in the QA process and now the team are working around the clock in order to rectify the situation.

Their full statement follows.

We have just become aware of the issues people are having with Bully Scholarship Edition on Xbox 360. It appears that some older 360s are experiencing framerate issues, freezes and other problems. You have our word that we never experienced any of this in QA - in any of our offices or at Microsoft. I am horrified, and we are now working around the clock to rectify this situation. Thanks to Neo-Gaf for bringing this matter to our attention. We love our games and put a huge amount of energy and care into making them all that they can be. We would never shove anything out the door - we never have and never will. We apologise to everyone affected for the inconvenience. Respectfully, Sam Houser

Being that Rock* is an awesome developer, I honesty don't think the 360 version is filled with bugs and glitches, nor do I think it's really a compatibility issue with older system.

Maybe people that have older systems are starting to get the RROD now , just like when any big title comes out. People like to ***** and moan that X game killed their system. But, in actuality their 360 was gonna freak out eventually.

agree or disagree, I don't really care.

Don't really have an interest in Bully anymore (played through it already the ps2)

I still enjoy my 360 from time to time.

It's not an issue of "Old Xbox 360 vs. New Xbox 360"... I believe it may be a resolution issue, or the good old "we know it's full of bugs, but we'll patch it later".

I have a new Xbox 360 Elite and an old Xbox 360 Pro (launch system) and I tested the game on both.

I played Bully for the 1st time last night and it locked up 10 minutes into the story mode. (It was running in 1080p via HDMI on the Elite console.) I then played it on my old Xbox 360 Pro running in 1080i... it locked up, but not at the same point. I dropped the resolution to 720p and it ran fine for hours on both of my Xbox 360 consoles.

Side note: the only reason I suspected the problem to be resolution related is becuase of my buddy. He has an old Xbox 360 launch console and it ran perfectly in 480p for years... now he has a 60" HDTV and after 4 days of running it in 1080p via component he got the red ring.... when they sent his "fixed" console back to him it was only a matter of days before it red ringed again.... when the "fixed-fixed" console game back it red ringed 3 days later.... he doesn't want to send it back, so he did a little testing... once it turned on with no problem, he dropped the resolution down to 480p and it ran like that with no trouble for days. Now he's up to 720p and it's still going strong. (Next week it's the 1080p test and another phone call to Micro$oft.)

ok, thanks for that now prove it, recall and replace instead of taking the pc way out and patching it, that way we can enjoy it in years to come (assuming we can find a working 360 to play it on).

That has been said for more than just this game, people blamed the hardware for assassin's creed until the ps3 users piped up that they had the same issues.
There's simply too many reports for this to just be bad machines some of them brand new. It's likely rockstar's testing procedure was poor or doesn't directly reflect wild console conditions.

That's really interesting, I had never heard anyone comment or suggest that this might be the problem. Maybe the extra work puts too much of a load on the 360's internals? it seems too stupid to be the cause, but then again most of the times these complex problems always have idiotic solutions.
